Dead Season
It has been over one year since the start of the outbreak. Our society has collapsed and the world has descended into chaos. Elvis and Tweeter are two of the last people left alive, and band together to flee the United States for a remote island somewhere in the Caribbean. On the island, they find a new community struggling to hold out against an army of corpses. They can join this band of survivors-- but only if they can do what must be done for the good of the group.

Boring
I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
I only write reviews of movies with low rating, which actually are not that bad. Give them a chance! As I said in title, if only zombies were better, the movie would be great. Not awesome, but... I know, the budget is low, but they could have imagined some other kind of apocalypse, not zombie one. Other things in the movie are OK, though I don't understand some extremely close shots... So camera is good and bad, too.Watch it if you like movies about apocalypse, story is cool and watchable.5.5/10
After a zombie apocalypse, a man and a woman decide to flee the American mainland and sail to an island. When they arrive they find themselves being evaluated by a group of people already there on whether they should be allowed to stay or whether they should be killed. Since "Elvis" (Scott Peat) is a medic his services are in great need and so he and "Tweeter" (Marissa Miller) are allowed to stay. But they soon realize that there are a couple of big problems. First, a Dutch cruise liner has sunk near the shore and zombies are managing to make their way from it to the island. The other problem is a lack of food. At any rate, rather than give away the entire story I will just say that this is a standard zombie film. It is grim, with no humor to speak of. The acting is adequate. So too is the action and the gore. In short, it's not spectacular by any means but it is definitely worth a look for those who enjoy this genre.
10 minutes in when hes squaring up to run through the zombies you can see a camera man or set man behind him standing there. Look to his right and its clearly visible. Not only that, but being able to run through a pack of zombies that easily? If you could escape from zombies that easily then there's no point watching this as you could practically walk away from them or even right past them. Definitely the worse movie I've seen in years. Complete waste of time to watch this trash. More proof to that zombie movies have been going downhill. After this scene tho i have decided to not finish this movie and i will leave the rest of the criticism to those who have more patience for such horrible movies.
Dead Season is about a couple, of 20 something people, guy's probably closer to early to mid-thirties and the chick, who's decent looking and a badass, is late teens, early 20's, 23 max, escape their city to an island fortress. A makeshift military fortress, where food is scarce and it's not all that secure, but it's still a fortress, I guess. Push comes to shove, the 2 new arrivals bring about the complete destruction of the place. Blah, blah, blah....Dead Season is well..., I don't know, it's pretty much a run of the mill zombie flick. Well..., except for the island fortress thingy, which actually reminded me of a couple issues of, "The Walking Dead," comic, I think issues 31, 32, or 30 something anyway, barely minus the rape in the comic and the fact they're on an island where there is nothing to eat. The acting was almost bearable in very few scenes, while being bad for most. The zombies themselves are rather shameful. I mean, the make up is passable. The effects are..., passable. But..., I don't know, it was something about their overall demeanor and the way they moved. I didn't know that you could make a character who is literally braindead seem stupid. But they manage it in this C-movie. There's actually a whole helluva lot more that I should really point at as bad, but like I said, it's a C-movie (not really sure if that's an actual class of movies, I just know this isn't good enough to be considered a B-movie), so, rather than point out all the bad in this movie, I'm just going to say don't have any kind of above par expectations for this, and it's okay. I was going to rate this a 1, but..., I don't know, the heroine just seems cool to me, and the surviving daughter is pretty hot.
