hyped garbage
This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Who r these people who give rubbish points. Lol It's great british film Usually these get boring but not this. Welcome to all
A blind pianist is the only witness to the murder of her upstairs neighbour. The killing seems to be connected to a Serbian war criminal who is the father of the dead girl. This movie started off quite strongly as a tense psychological thriller but about half-way in, it took a bit of a sudden change of direction into spy film territory. It was at this point that I felt it started to lose steam somewhat. Part of this is simply down to my personal view that spy films tend to be exposition-driven and a little tedious, whereas psychological thrillers by contrast offer up more intrigue while being a lot less routine. So, this change of direction, while unpredictable, was not to an overall benefit to the movie as a whole I thought. Character motivations also were somewhat unclear at times too, and it did feel that the script could have been re-worked to some extent. It was still an enjoyable enough thriller however, with some suspenseful scenes and an interesting central character. Although, it has to be said that the big reveal in the finale was a bit bonkers and throws up a few questions given what we have seen before. I am sort of quite forgiving of thrillers throwing in far-fetched stuff like this though which can be kind of fun and it did get me discussing the movie afterwards at length which led me to deciding to add an extra star rating to it for this reason alone. My concerns for the film were less to do with unrealistic plot developments though and more to do with tired spy film tropes. The result is a film which is a bit uneven. But it is one which still is a good enough watch if you like thrillers.
In her London apartment Sofia ( Natalie Dormer), a blind concert pianist, hears a commotion on the floor above her apartment and later discovers the woman Veronique (Emily Ratajkowski) who she barely knew either jumped or was pushed out of the window and died. The possible killer Marc (Ed Skrein) believes Sofia saw him, but learns later that she is blind, but he keeps an eye on her anyway. Why?I thought this would be a simple murder mystery, but I was wrong as there is a lot more to the story than meets the eye. There are a lot of twists and you have to keep up. But here are some clues anyway: Sofia had agreed to play for the father of Veronique and his name is Radic (Jan Bijvoet) a suspected war criminal during his time in Bosnia and allowed to stay safely in England. Detective Mills (Neil Maskell) simply doesn't believe that a blind woman with heightened senses for hearing cannot be of more help. Marc believes Veronique gave something to Sofia and he needs it to keep Radic safe. There are too may darkened scenes. Seems to be a thing for this type movie. Acting all around is good.Notables: Joly Richardson as Alex, Marc's sister; James Cosmo as Niall, the person who carried Sofia out of war torn Bosnia when she was a child. There is one very last twist and this is after all is said and done as Sofia walks away. (7/10)Violence: Yes. Sex: Yes. Nudity: Yes. Humor: No. Language: yes, but not much. Rating: B
Interesting idea, poor realization. Typical propaganda from the West regarding the war in Bosnia "for the war is the Serbs are guilty, only they committed crimes, the other participants in the war are innocent victims." In this war, all parties committed crimes, but only Serbian crimes are being spoken and emphasized.
