Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
So bad I want to give it a negative number. It is utterly ridiculous, the story is nonsense, can't even describe the butchery of the characters, the animation is horrible.
The idea of Batman flung through time with a cadre of Gotham's most notorious criminals sounds delightful, but the overwhelming Japanese Manga type influence dulls the delivery. The plot had a perfect setup. Batman and his crew thrown through time by Grodd's time machine going haywire, taking Catwoman, Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin, Two Face and Deathstroke with them. The idea was fantastic! Each criminal vying for control of feudal Japan, and Batman and his crew of Nightwing, Robin, Red Robin and Red hood join with a Ninja clan to restore Japan's history.Unfortunately, the story goes sideways...fast. The plot ultimately turns weak, like watching a traditional Japanese cartoon which does the idea of Batman very littel Justice. It becomes way too campy, like the 1960's American Tv show. And some major faux pas when it comes to Batman canon. The movie tries to claim Batman must take up the way of the Ninja and train as a Ninja to defeat Joker, etc. In true canon Batman was trained by the league of Shadows, a clan of Ninja! Batman already IS a ninja by training. This was a sorely disappointing hole. The ultimate nail in the coffin for this movie was the finale when each rogue criminal's castle was retooled to MOVE! The castle became roving and walking tanks, even chaning like a Gundam to become a robot to fight each other on the plains of medieval Japan using technology and machining techniques that were clearly impossible for the time. And the biggest slap yourself in the forehead "WTH" moment is when Joker returns (no surprise!) to oust Grodd and combine all the castle bots into one giant robot on the field only to be fought to defeat by a giant amalgam of musically controlled monkeys and bats that make the shape of a giant Batman figure! The only saving grace to this grand disappointment is the animation and visuals.I would rate it a 0, but I am too kind.
Batman Ninja is whimsically animated with a creative direction that is surprisingly good. Going into this movie with any expectations may cause you to be disappointed as this movie plays to its own beat. Very interesting art style and almost like an amalgamation of everything great in Japanese anime in the last decades mixed with Batman. Must Watch for any Batman or Action Anime fans.Pros: -Great Animation and Graphics -Fun Character re-imagination -Tons of Action -Better than expected voice over -Lots of fun anime clichesCons -Some Action scenes are a bit short -General audience may not get the film (you have to remember this is from a Japanese angle) -Same old plot (its Batman)In conclusion this is a really great film. It is a shame there are so many lower review for it. I feel the largest drawback for the majority of viewers is that they cannot appreciate the art style and direction and expect the film to revolutionize Batman which no other production has ever done. This is really a must watch that children and adults both can enjoy. 8 out of 10 Solid Film !
I'm watching this movie as I type this review. About an hour into it but I'm about to turn it off. Ridiculous plot. I can go on but don't want to waste too much time. Hands down the worst Batman movie ever made and now in my top ten of worst movies of all time.
