It is so daring, it is so ambitious, it is so thrilling and weird and pointed and powerful. I never knew where it was going.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

I grew up watching this movie, so being able to rewatch it and analyze it when was older was amazing. As a child I thought this film was magical, Judy Garland's performance somehow got better and better as I got older and I couldn't picture anyone else as Dorthy besides her. The film is absolutely phenomenal and is still able to capture my heart. The characters and the costume are the perfect combination. Margaret Hamilton as the Wicked With of the West is the best thing to happen to me, her portrayal was so amazing. The voice, and the way she carries herself while she's in character truly captures the 'wickedness' of the character. Overall this film will continue to be one of the best films of all time in my opinion, and I'm never going to be able to think of Kansas as anything else other then Dorthy's home.

Premiered in 1939, The Wizard of Oz was ahead of it's time for a number of reasons. It was one of the first films made with technicolor AND in black in white giving it both a past and futuristic feel. Although not talked about often it also had no main male hero, the Scarecrow, the Lion and the Tin man were all considered to be "common man" roles whereas the main character is Dorothy and the only real powered figures in the film were the White Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. No movie prior to this had made the most powerful and most revered character a woman

Who doesn't know this film? The classic tale of Dorothy and friends and their extroidinary journey along the yellow brick road. A bright, fun filled story, complete with a moral.

This movie is convoluted and stupid. Yes, it is a classic, and the fact that it even existed was considered amazing, but as a movie its not that great. There is a lot of stupid in this movie. I know that movies used to have much lower budgets, but the sets in this movie are hilariously cheap. I know that most of this movie is supposed to be a dream, but the story is still dumb and full of holes. Overall there isn't much to say about this movie. It just doesn't hold up.
