Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Mild-mannered Paul Blart has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day.

Pretty Good
Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
This is the greatest movie of ALL TIME My eyes are getting weary My back is getting tight I'm sitting here in traffic on the Queensborough bridge tonight But, I don't care 'cause all I want to do... is cash my check and drive right home to you 'cause Baby, all my life I will be driving home to you
The type of physical humor perpetuated by Kevin James is worth a few good chuckles, to be sure. The trouble, though, is that it is only good for "X" many jokes. For a basic plot summary, "Mall Cop" focuses on Paul Blart (James), an overweight mall "security officer" who continually fails to become a true gun-toting policeman. Just when his life seems to be at the lowest, however, he is thrust into a high-pressure hostage situation that tests his mettle. The first thirty or so minutes of this film are legitimately funny, watching Blart blunder through situation after situation. James is an accomplished physical comedian who knows exactly how to comically move his oversized body.Yet, the jokes stop being funny in the second half, when the film gets a little too repetitive. Those same "fat jokes" that worked so well in the opener are old hat once the climax approaches. Thus, this is a decent little family-friendly comedy. It isn't great, but you'll genuinely laugh on more than a few occasions.
It is not a good comedy or a good movie for adults. I thought it was pretty stupid at first and it is. But after some minutes i thought "what the heck i miss this type of movies", its an 90s style family comedy. And if you just don't take it seriously at all, its OK entertainment. The story is nothing new. Its the classic thing about an outcast that has been bullied all his life, will he become the hero and get the girl???? hmmmmmmm. The jokes is nothing new and very often is about fat stuff jokes etc, classic style. And the lines i general are nothing new. And its a late 90s acting style with stupid villains.Kids will laugh and most grown ups will kinda watch it without throwing up or being mad. And maby laugh sometimes. Its a feel good movie.Recommended if you are tired of watching disneychannel stuff with your kids. Or if you want light entertainment.
I'm not one of those critics who blast movies out of proportion and out of context. This movie is a movie in which I can have a good laugh at how cheesy, stupid, and bad this movie is. For this review, I will be talking mainly about the acting, characters, and the comedy. 1) The characters- For one, the characters aren't all that bad. The character of Paul Blart to me if a lovable, goofy, and funny character who should be a sympathetic character. HIs daughter, on the other hand, is just plain annoying in this movie. This character got on my nerves, but that's just what the actress worked with. The love interest is also kind of an airhead and the romantic subplot is think is just shoehorned in this movie.2) The Acting- The Acting was okay for the most part. The guy who plays the new guy, Vec Simms, he does well as well as the main star, Kevin James. Kevin James is a funny and goofy comedian who can make me laugh no matter what he's in. 3) The comedy- To be honest, the comedy in this movie is a little bit lame, but still, it makes me laugh at loud in several places, and when it does work, it works well. All in all, I consider this movie a guilty pleasure movie, and when I want some mindless comedy, Ill watch this.
