Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
You tend to get used to the ratings of critics. Yet if I see a rating of two stars, I tend to think, "Two stars, it can't be any good".Anyone who has not viewed this film, ignore the critique, and marvel at a film, which though the story is unlikely[ which may have put "stuff shirt" critics off] its so brilliantly done, its one of those packages which has a team who love what they are doing, a director who attracts a brilliant photographer, which influence top notch actors to the project. So what do you get here, great action great dialogue great direction & photography professional production, the best actors, loving the experience, and the viewer, that's you guys get lucky, sit comfortably stack a few cans and join in on the best back seat driving you ever had.
Happy new year to the IMDb staff and readers of my reviews as of now I will have 195 thanks for reading my review members of IMDb and hope you like my all my review check out and thank you I know you don't respond so It's a 1hr 58mins of car mania of Action, amazing jump a Crime Thriller I gave it 7/10 director Dominic Sena who done the thriller swordfish with an all star cast to boot does a fine job for a summer hit A retired master car thief must come back to the industry and steal 50 cars with his crew in one night to save his brother's life this ice cold hot wired a budget of 90 million dollars and mad 101,643008 million in the b.o in this High octane superstar Nicolas cage ( leaving Las Vegas the rock and con air ) and sexy Angelina jolie ( girl interrupted and tomb raider ) are unstoppable wave of speed and adrenaline rush in this hot edgy action hit legendary car booster Randall Memphis raines ( cage ) thought he d be left the fast lane behind until he is forced out of retirement in a do or die effort to save his kid brother ( Giovanni ribsi ) saving private Ryan ) from the wrath of a evil mobster. Car theft in Long Beach went down 47% when Randall "Memphis" Raines walked away from the life. He gets dragged back into it by assuming the job his brother Kip screwed up for stolen-car broker Raymond Calitri: steal 50 exotic cars and have them on a container ship by 8 AM Friday morning, and he got this news on a Monday. With Calitri threatening to kill him and Kip, and the police GRAB unit breathing down his neck, Memphis reassembles his old crew and attempts to pull off the logistically impossible But with speed to burn and attitude to spare Memphis re assembles his old team including Robert duval ( deep Impact) and vinney Jones as Spinx's his first acting role ) this fast movie floors it in full throttle and to race to pull off the ultimate car heist 50 cars in 24 hours this action packed thrill ride comes out fast and never slows down a remake of a 1974 and before fast and the furious this is the king before the the amazing fast films. So yes, this movie isn't an "epic, life-affirming post-9/11 picture with obligatory social commentary" effort. The pacing is uneven, some of the scenes could have been cut and not all the actors tow the line. But car movies rarely come better than this. So if you hate cars... why are you even reading these comments. Films where the plot takes a backseat to the set-pieces. Films where the dialogue isn't so cleverly written that it ties itself in endless knots of purple prose. There are HUNDREDS of films that fit the bill... but in my opinion Gone In Sixty Seconds is one of the better ones.an Eleanor is cool looking but the Ferraris and porches look hotNicolas Cage ... Kip Raines (Giovanni Ribisi) is a brash car thief. His brother Memphis (Nicolas Cage) retired from the business to run a kiddie go-cart business. After a Kip screw up, Atley Jackson (Will Patton) forces Memphis to take over the job as the villain Raymond Calitri (Christopher Eccleston) keeps Kip hostage. Memphis has to steal 50 specific cars in 4 days. He reassembles some of his old crew with Kip's new crew. Detectives Castlebeck (Delroy Lindo) and Drycoff (Timothy Olyphant) are hot on his trail.Ribisi is his usual jittery hopeless loser character. Cage is toned down in this one. In a sense, that's indicative of a missed opportunity. It tries to be serious a little and that's the wrong path. This needs to be silly and fun. It also needs more Jolie who is really only tied for the third lead with a dozen other actors. This really needs to be fun wall-to-wall car chases. There is not enough of them and after an initial chase, it takes too long to get to the next one.
I'm a big fan of Nicolas Cage for all leading roles in a variety of films he played. The Gone in Sixty Seconds production was very unique in terms of exotic cars, stunts performed and off course the story. I remember when i was 18, I'd watch this movie almost few times a week and simply never get tired. I'm assuming, the reason why i'd be so into it, is because of the exotic cars and the speed that Nicolas character Memphis would accelerate from zero to 60. And I'll be honest, when i came across Shelby GT-500 on zeroto60.co stats, i wanted to watch this movie instantaneously but watching at the age of 18 was much more exiting. Even though so many years passed, the movies is still good, but hopefully they'll make the second one with Nicolas Cage and co-star Angelina Jolie.
