If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
I didn't know what expect from this.I thought it was decent movie, I liked some of the sub plots of it.And they all come together.I liked the start of, when a young couple Drive and there twist and turns in those scenes, which really surprised me at the time.Liked scene with Clown , thought it was so-what creepy but very predicable. The rest of it, I can't remember much, only watched last night, Some parts of the movie are very forgettable. The acting was decent, compare to the last movie I saw.5 our of 10
It wasn't the best horror film I've watched, but it most certainly was not the worst. It was good, and I was definitely intrigued to watch more mainly because of the actors. Mostly Kier O'Donnell who played the killer. He is an amazing actor and I think he definitely kept the film on its toes. The story line and plot was OK, however quite predictable. Three girls stalked and kidnapped. I did however like the idea of how they all had different stories leading up to meeting the killer one way or another as it all comes together in the very last scene. Many people complained at how the killer changed looks all the time for each story, but I think it was a smart idea. It made the killer more menacing and intimidating as you didn't know if he was someone else. It made you question who was actually who in the film. The script was OK but the actors made it sound better than I imagined it was originally written. I think the killer's most freaky look was in the scary looking, old hotel in the third story. The whole mad, creepy insane professor look goes great for the scenario of the scene! I loved how in the first story, he is an old innocent dude with glasses joining in on the convoy. It also made you think that the truck driver was the killer, with his intimidating look and suspicious behaviour as they made the actual killer look more innocent and 'normal' so to speak. Someone who you'd look at but not think they were going to kill you. The second story shows how the killer dons a clown costume which I think was extremely creepy. The third story showed the killer as, like I said before, a nutty professor type look which I think was the freakiest look. However, the killer is hidden just enough so you don't actually know it's the killer until you hear his signature laugh that you know it's him. Overall, I think everyone needs to stop being so picky. The acting was average from the girls, but very good from Kier. Being a fan of his I was not disappointed with his acting in the film. The film could of been improved to make it more scary and less predictable and more original. I recommend not watching this if your a die hard horror fan who picks out every little improvement and mistake or foul in the film. However, If your someone who will happily sit there and watch the film, understanding possible improvements but still enjoying the acting and the plot and who likes being freaked out in the dark with some friends, I suggest watching this film.
My girlfriend and I have just watched this gem of a movie. The acting was pretty good and the clown was really creepy as many other reviews have stated. There were some parts that were a little predictable but this definitely does not outweigh the overall quality of the movie. I do not understand why this film had so many bad reviews. There were times that made my girlfriend and I jump out of our skin! Overall we enjoyed this film thoroughly and both of us thought a 5/10 was not a fair rating. After a very long time we have seen such a creepy film. If you enjoy horror films you should like this one... I sometimes thought it was a little like a "tame" Saw movie. Of course only with a few similarities but it still reminded me of it somewhat. Enjoy!!
Where do I start? Well first of all, the plot had potential, it's just unfortunate to see what was done with the idea. The film was riddled with inconsistencies from start to finish, the acting was bad on almost all of the characters, the cover (and synopsis) is pretty misleading, characters are boring, and the antagonist was especially ridiculous (his name should be the indication of that). And why is whatever the girls did to him as a child never explained or revisited? It just shows that one awkward and horribly acted scene when they're like five years old. Then at the end she briefly states that they "laughed at him". Gee, that's a really good reason to go on a killing spree. I realize he's supposed to be crazy, but shouldn't there be SOME reason for this pointless mess? And what about all the unexplained characters who seemed to have helped the killer, like the trucker, and the owner of that obvious non-hotel? It's also pretty hard to sympathize with any of the protagonists when they make the stupidest moves on earth. It's almost their own fault for the fact they've been captured when they had multiple obvious escape opportunities. There's so many unanswered questions to this movie, and I honestly don't want to know the answer to most of them. This thing fails even as an unintentional 'amusement'.
