Best movie of this year hands down!
Awesome Movie
Absolutely Brilliant!
It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
'Wheels on Meals' is an action- comedy starring Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Sammo Hung, Lola Forner, Keith Vitali and Benny Urquidez. The 3 Dragons (Jackie, Sammo and Yuen) have done 3 big movies together: 'Project A', 'Wheels on Meals' and 'Dragons Forever'. WoM is my favorite out of them for several reasons. It has better balance between the 3 dragons rather than Project A which was more of a Jackie flick. The international feel with the Spanish and Chinese is great fun too. I love the soundtrack as well. The action scenes are the best though. Sammo Hung has slightly less screen presence than Jackie and Yuen but its fine because he does a wonderful job of directing. His swordplay in the climax is fantastic as well. Yuen does a very good job in the movie and is very charismatic as the innocent guy fallen for the pickpocket. Jackie's climax battle with Benny is still hailed as one of his epic best which is true. Lola is very sexy in her role. Keith and Benny do a fantastic job as the thugs. If you want to laugh out loud and be wowed by some fantastic stunt work and fight sequences, Wheels on Meals is just for you. Not to be missed by a Jackie Chan fan.
Great movie with, trio of world's most famous kung-fu action stars (Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Bao) in their prime. This is the movie that basically established Jackie Chan's style of combining slap stick humor with action in international settings. The trio broke the barrier of traditional Hong Kong movie making style in this film. Being from the same Peking Opera school, their friendship can be seen even through their acting.Jackie and Yuen operates a food wagon and Jackie plays a waiter on roller skates. They get entangled with a prostitute who are hunted by gang of thugs which gets them entangled in trouble as well. You can see that they were having fun making this movie, and you'll also see the incredible physical prowess of the three actors.Masterpiece for the three actors who became international stars in the coming years.I just wonder about the title though. Shouldn't it be Meals on Wheels instead of Wheels on Meals ?
It is one of those rare examples when I get absolutely disappointed by a Sammo Hung Kam-Bo movie and by the mighty trio. It simply bores me on each level: fighting choreography, jokes, gags and slapstick, and stunts. For me this movie does not work at all and it succeeds only in embarrassing me. The only good thing is that this DVD did not cost me much being a "cheap" release. If I need high-quality "fighting choreography, jokes, gags and slapstick, and stunts", I spin my "Sing si lip yan" DVD, "Long xiong hu di" DVD, or "Long xiao ye" one. It never gets any better than that. In my very humble opinion of course.Sorry, Mr Jackie Chan and all his fans, but I simply dislike this flick. Maybe Spain and China is like milk and salty cucumbers. A mixture that refuses to digest.Once I mentioned everything that I didn't like about this movie on Jackie Chan board (even the so often praised Benny vs. Jackie fight looks poor to me). I am not in the mood to repeat it all here again.3 out of 10 (there are still a few highlights and you know them, if you've watched it). Thanks for attention.
What can i say? It was great. Second best movie from Jackie, Sammo and yuen have done together. The best is Dragon Forever. Movie includes awesome stunts, great fights and a few cameos by the "lucky stars". end fight sequence has been titled the best! Although, i dont understand the name. Wheels on Meals? It would have been better as "Meals on Wheels".
