Strong and Moving!
hyped garbage
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
While the movie is certainly competent, reimagining one of the great horror icons left bad taste in viewers mouths... and eyes. Like someone pissed onto fans and casuals alike.As much as the the original movie (and it's sequel) tried to dehumanize Michael Myers, this reboot tried to humanize. He is a sweet kid, he has family, he speaks, he thinks, you can see his face, etc.All of it has no point and it just makes Michael Myers a shittier villain and in process, completely missing the point why Michael Myers is such a great villain.Best thing is that Myers is played by Tyler Mane and the dude is huge. And at least that adds some imposing physical menace to this version of Michael Myers.Everything else is either dialed to eleven (social interactions and characters) or is a direct copy from the original.I love Malcolm McDowell, but he was miscast here. Also, I didn't care for the rest of the cast... maybe Brad Dourif. However, I must nod to the number of cameos that Rob Zombie brought on. Most obvious is that character Anne is played by Danielle Harris that also played Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4 and 5.It's not a bad movie by itself, but it's a bad Halloween movie. An edgy disappointment for Slipknot fans in mid 2000's. Disclosure - i was a fan of Slipknot then and still hated this movie.
Rob Zombie made the "Halloween" franchise more violent and bloody. It is simply on of the BEST horror movie remakes.
One of my favourite horror remake is going to be 10 years old this year. That's crazy. I was in love with this film. I thought rob zombie done a great job reimagined a horror classic. The haters of the remake don't accept that zombie was doing putting a new spin on the 1978 John carpenter classic. Zombie said he didn't want to just do the same movie because it has already been done. The soundtrack was awesome for the remake. I liked we got more of Michael Myers backstory. I thought malcolm mcdowell done a good job as dr samuel loomis but he can't never replace Donald pleasence. He will always be loomis is my eyes and Halloween fans eyes also. I do admit zombie did fuck up the loomis character in the Sequel. It was the wrong approach of the character to just become a major dick. Remember a remake shouldn't outshine the original it's just another retelling of the story. All the casting was great. It was great to see one of my favourite scream queens Danielle Harris back in a Halloween movie. It was strange to see her playing the role of Annie because Harris was in her 30s and she was playing a 18 year old but she did pull it Of though because Harris is very young looking. I thought scout Taylor Compton done a great job as Laurie strode. She was very believable and u felt sorry for her. Sucks that Compton hasn't went on to bigger things because I think she's a good actress in my opinion. Plus she can do a great scream.
Horrible actors...are you serious? This is embarrassing to even try and stomach your way through. What an utter insult to John Carpenter and Debra Hill. This mess is a who's who of washed up and wanna be actors. The story is ridiculous.. a dysfunctional family? How Psych 101! Very low end high school project work here. A spoon fed script written for an audience of low intelligence. I mean go ahead and rent it for "stupid movie night" for laughs. Apparently the director needs to stick to shtick music and leave classics to the classics.
