Lack of good storyline.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

I already knew what would happen in the end, poorly designed plot for modern viewers. It doesn't go anywhere beyond awake-sleeper's delusions. This movie is ridiculously long and boring. 6/10 Just because of brilliant acting.

This is one of these movies that thought it can be considered old, it never gets old.The Machinist treats mental health problems really interestingly, and immerses the viewer into Trevor's mind in a brilliant yet sneaky way. The movie tries to deliver the vision of a man who's been better, but doesn't realize how low he is because he's gotten used to the felling, and if that's something hard to explain imagine how hard it is to pull it up in an almost two hours long movie. And this film still success at doing it.I Wish I could say more about it, but I would kill part of it's magic. You'll have to see it, something I recommend you to do.

If you like thrillers/ mysteries esp. psychological thrillers or dramas, this movie is one of the best ever. Even without regard to genre, this is just a superb movie. If possible (albeit you're reading reviews right now) watch this movie knowing as little about it beforehand as possible. Watch it alone (so you can really observe it), and then watch it again. Freaking fantastic movie; such a human story. Unforgettable...If you are a lover of classic horror, you will adore this film. Just as "The Shining" is one of the most visually beautiful and ominous horror film classics, "The Machinist" is a dark, riveting, crescendo of suspense, and so much more than that; it is so purely human...Here's how good this film is: it is as if O. Henry made a psychological thriller/ horror film. Sheer brilliance. So beautiful, so poignant. You will cry. I love this film.

The Machinist (2004) is a psychological thriller/drama film about an industrial worker who hasn't slept in a year begins to doubt his own sanity.A very dark and depressing film, but also excellent. This movie looks amazing when the colors faded to the point where it almost feels like a black-and-white film and it makes more dark/depressing film. When Bale showed his body, it made creepy how he looked very thin and he ate only one apple or one can of tuna a day for months. The story/plot twist are also awesome, but the ending is kinda sad. I'd give it a strong 10/10. Highly recommend!Christian Bale did really hard job for his role, he lost too much weight. I'm still shocked that he wasn't even nominated an Oscar for Best Actor.
