Knights of Badassdom
Three best friends and dedicated roleplayers take to the woods to reenact a dungeons and dragons-like scenario as a live action role-playing game. Trouble arises when a prop spellbook purchased from the internet ends up being a genuine grimoire and they unwittingly conjure up a blood-lusting succubus from hell.

Very disappointing...
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
One of the most enjoyable memories I have is Saturday B movie night. My friends and I would pick up three or four B movies, cook up some popcorn, nachos, soda, and watch the movies till the early morning hours. If you enjoy those nights, then KoB is the movie for you. KoB has little to offer other than silly humor. The story is predictable, but that does not detour from the fun. I am not going to lie. If you are a person that is always super serious, and demands movies deliver a life changing message, or uphold seriously high standards, then this movie will be lost on you. You will most likely complain throughout it, and long afterwards. But, if you are someone like me who can watch a movie and just enjoy the silliness with no expectations, then you're in for a fun ride. You will, at some time, quote the movie, or joke about the scenes. Keep in mind that everything about this movie is an exaggerated parody of something real in life or seen in other movies. It isn't that they tried to cut corners on cost, but they successfully focused on trying to be cheesy and over the top silly in delivery of lines, effects, and story. (No, not Monty Python silly.)
This is definitely a B- movie. But it has an A list cast and a genuinely funny, bad it is so good, script. Just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. A list actors hamming it up in a B- movie. The rest of my review is to meet IMDb's 5 line minimum review. They obviously did not get the less is more snapchat (I would have said memo, but I don't think people do those now. I think it is all snapchat, whatsapp or periscope now. Those have probably gone the way of friends reunited and MySpace in the time it has taken you to read this.)Fun movie, watch it. Fills in some time between birth and death when you are not too busy being awesome.
If you're looking for some good comedy with good jokes this isn't the movie to watch. Not that I didn't laughed at all because I did, but I only laughed because it was so cheesy and ridiculous at times. It's second degree humor, and there's nothing wrong with that if it is your kind of humor, but to me it was just not good enough. And even if you're into role playing I don't think Knights of Badassdom will be a reference for other people joining this kind of hobby. They mostly mock it, and those are in fact the only funny parts of the movie. The cast isn't bad without being great. There are some horror moments but again a lack of budget makes it more laughable than anything else. There are better movies in this genre if you ask me.
This was one of those films I found myself being able to follow whilst replying to texts. I had to consciously put my phone on Airplane Mode to avoid the temptation of zoning out. It's not that it was bad, it was just so easy to follow through the second act that I didn't feel the need to concentrate. There were some small, insignificant points in the film that I enjoyed that I feel, were they consistent throughout, I would've enjoyed the film a lot more. Maybe even loved it. Mainly the humour (especially when they broke character in the game), the gross out moments, the moments when the person's character came through. Otherwise it was very mediocre.Analysing it could result in seeing a metaphor for a demon of a girlfriend that literally eats the life out of things which I quite liked. And the fact that he defeated the beast with the music he loved and she hated solidified this for me.
