Unleashed
Raised as a slave, Danny is used to fighting for his survival. In fact, his "master," Bart, thinks of him as a pet and goes as far as leashing him with a collar so they can make money in fight clubs, where Danny is the main contender. When Bart's crew is in a car accident, Danny escapes and meets a blind, kindhearted piano tuner who takes him in and uses music to free the fighter's long-buried heart.

Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Great Film overall
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
The martial artist Jet Li is famous for his elegant and artistic fight style. But in this martial arts film, Li becomes much more gritty, ruthless and brutal. He has to resort to everything he can get in order to survive. Therefore, this film is the most intense, ferocious and cringing film ever starring Li.
This movie is a favorite of mine! This has to be one of the most creative and emotional movies I have ever seen ever! Jet Li is so great in this movie1 You really feel for his character and you want him to get out this terrible, terrible situation that he's in!! I love the message of this movie about hope and family and how no matter what you go through in life that you will overcome. The action and fighting in this movie is so great as well!!! The enemy in this movie is great as well because you hate this guy and you want him to get seriously, seriously hurt. The supporting roles in this movie are awesome as well and you can tell that they really care for Jet Li as well.
This is no Transporter (2002) or Kiss of the Dragon (2001), Two Movies from the Writer/Director Team of Luc Besson and Louis Leterrier. Besson seems Better when He is in the Director's Chair, His Writer Only Attempts are a Mixed Bag. Jet Li tries but just does not have the Acting Ability to Pull Off this Multiple Personality Outing and is Hamstrung by a most Sappy Story that is only Moderately Successful. The Comic-Book Elements at Work here Attain an Over-the-Top Entertainment that is Drowned in an Overly Sentimental Movie that is an Attempt to Soften the Hard-Edged Martial Arts Entries with Sharply Choreographed Fights with a Teary and Heavy Handed Family Conceit.It all Somewhat Works but not Enough to make this a Breakthrough, try something a Bit Different, Movie. Predictably, the Action is Tight, but the Melodrama Muddles and some Things are just too Overwrought to be Palatable for Fans. Viewers who want more from a Martial Arts Movie than just Chop-Suey may be more Forgiving.In the End it is a Misfire and is Recommended, but just be Prepared for some pretty Tough-to-Handle, and Misplaced Tugs at the Heartstrings.
In Glasgow, martial arts fighter Jet Li (as Danny) has been raised doggie-style by gangster Bob Hoskins (as Bart). When he has his collar on, Mr. Li is fairly docile - but when Mr. Hoskins takes the collar off, Li crunches bones and pounds heads. Looking a little like Ray Charles with a mustache, friendly Morgan Freeman (as Sam) arrives on the scene. A blind piano tuner, Mr. Freeman sees Li for the gentle soul that he really is, deep down. Ahh... Freeman has a step-daughter Kerry Condon (as Victoria Mills)...Freeman and Ms. Condon teach Li how to play the piano and be nice. At first, she has a scary metal smile, but Ms. Condon becomes kissable sweet after the "hardware" is removed and she shows Li how to lick vanilla ice cream. All goes well until Hoskins re-enters the picture. He wants Li to return to fighting for revenge and profit, and won't take "no" for an answer. An interesting debate can be made about how the film character rejects being paid to fight violently, when Li acting violent is what viewers pay to see.***** Danny the Dog/ Unleashed (2/2/05) Louis Leterrier ~ Jet Li, Morgan Freeman, Bob Hoskins, Kerry Condon
