Better Late Then Never
An absolute waste of money
Absolutely Brilliant!
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
I put this movie on for background noise, and by the 15 minute mark I was more committed than most movies I have seen. The twist and laughs the sad parts and the drama. It had a little of everything and when it finally wrapped up I had to go online and see what others thought right away. I see the majority felt the same. There are a few out there, as there always is that might not get it. But def. worth seeing.
I felt so deeply moved after watching this lightly treated, yet deeply moving film that I could not wait to recommend it to my friends. The writing is eloquent, the production value is simple yet graceful. The stories are flawlessly emotional, deep and meaningful without being sentimental and clichéd. Lighting, camera work costume and sets all contribute to making you feel you really can be part of these stories. The reality is solid and the characters are humanly real at just with just the right touches. There is something that anyone out there will be able to relate with in these characters. The story centres around 5 different couples and they are weaved together seamlessly without you feeling at any point that you are being raced around to different places and yet at the same time you do not feel that they have been forced together. Sex and sexuality has become such a headline in topics in the media, film and just about everywhere today. I have never seen it dealt with with so much taste, sensitivity and respect. A gentle approach to that little death that sits deep within us all.
I really loved this movie. But I went into it expecting something else because of what I'd read in the IMDb summary. While there are moments that will make you feel like you'll die laughing, this is, actually, a very serious movie. It shows different sides to people through the one denominator that binds us all - our sexuality. And, while there are some scenes of sex - I feel like I have to mention it - they weren't made to arouse (so skip the movie if you wanted to get that out of it). This movie shows how far people will go in their selfish need to get their own satisfaction, but it also shows how far people will go to satisfy the ones they love. It shows the lengths they'll go to re- connect with the ones they love, and how easily they can lose contact with the world around them. All of this, of course, would not have been possible without the cast, which was chosen superbly and it shows why, IMHO, Aussie actors are taking over the world stage.
I'm not here to write a novel so I'll get to the point. There were too many characters, and although there was some link between them there was no real connection. The end left me typically flabbergasted as with many Australian films where a late comer ends up in love with a man in a span of ten minutes. It ends with two people dead. I repeat because I need 10 lines. I'm not here to write a novel so I'll get to the point. There were too many characters, and although there was some link between them there was no real connection. The end left me typically flabbergasted as with many Australian films where a late comer ends up in love with a man in a span of ten minutes. It ends with two people dead.
