This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
Did you people see the same film I saw?
best movie i've ever seen.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
A horror-thriller centered on a woman living with "face-blindness" after surviving a serial killer's attack. As she lives with her condition, one in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them, the killer closes in. Faces in the Crowd benefits from 2 strong performances by Milla Jovovich and Julian McMahon who have a great chemistry together and totally "live" their characters to the fullest. The film has a nice original idea about a woman who gets tracked by a serial killer that she can identify because of her illness and despite some "rocky" moments like the fall from the bridge and some bad cgi faces here and there this is a horror film that keeps you entertained of course not everyone is going to enjoy it but it's story is quite fresh, the 2 leading actors do a great job and some of the twists are good even tho quite "old" even with it's flaws Faces in the Crowd is a much better horror-thriller than your average straight to DVD film. (9/10)
Sadly it's not a logical film. We can buy that such an illness exists, and displays these symptoms. Still you can come up of many ways to recognize people. Just think how blind people can do that. Not only you can recognize the voice, but - if you are not blind - you can always tell short/tall, dark/light, fat/slim and so on. Asking a password from each acquaintance also would be an easy way. Keeping this in mind, obviously many of the scenes in this movie are plain absurd. Other unbearable clichés situations also appear in the movie, good performance from Jovovich though.
Milla Jovovich plays a woman whom, after an encounter with a serial killer, injures herself and causes a condition where she cannot control her facial recognition. So only Julian McMahons beard, and ties being worn can help her. When a prolific actor or actress stars in a straight to DVD movie, you know that there must be problems, even ultraviolet had a cinema release. And there are huge problems with this movie, despite the concept being sound. The main problem is, they play this like a horror movie, whereas it could have worked much better as a thriller, an intelligent thriller, rather than having her guess who is who.The cast are okay, but look so out of place, and for the most part, McMahon looks really embarrassed to be this, and on occasion, Jovovich looks and acts like a cyborg. Its aiming for the whodunit crowd, but this would have been made in 1992 with Michael Douglas and Madeleine Stowe. But when you think about if, it was made in the nineties.Has anyone seen Blink, or Jennifer 8?Pointless.
A very good movie. Tense, thrilling and sensational. Script and directing was good. Some folks felt that Milla Jovoich can't act. It's beyond me why some people want to beat up on some actors so bad. That's like saying John Wayne or Clint Eastwood can't perform or are one dimensional. Come on folks actors are professionals and put their time into it as they know their job is to entertain us. In the case of this movie the rare disease that Anna suffered, Milla Jovoich would've spent time learning about it and how people cope with it. After all she was one of the Executive Producers of this movie. She is serious about her business and the roles she takes on. Faces in the Crowd is no exception.
