The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

O. K. guys. I have watched all the movies from this director. I really liked The Thin Red Line, you know, during the war a Captain and a Sargeant really care about the men of their company, while the batallion colonel just care about promotions and medals. That said, I miss the point of all the other Malick's movies. ¿What is it, lack of communication amog human beings, or between husband and wife?. This movie, to me, it was the same movie that I have ever seen from Malick, whith the exception of the Thin Red Line. This guy should reinvent himself. I didn't get the point of Bardem's character. The movie should have been shorter...

See the review of CL Goodman. He/she does a perfect job of explaining why this movie should have never been made. It's almost unbelievable to me that it even exists!Olga Kurylenko is an excellent actress, but in this movie all she does is twirl around like a teenager in her first relationship. It's idiotic how this tries to be an art movie, but it treats the audience as if we're RETARDED and need to be shown over and over again how things are going between Kurylenko and Affleck. The ending is just complete junk and makes no sense. If I had taken a date to a theater and paid money to see this (I watched it on Netflix when I was too tired to turn it off), I would be downright angry.

I am a huge Terrence Malick fan and have loved everything he has done, up until this. This is not a good film. It's drawn out, has a very uninteresting script, and just fails to entertain, stimulate, or do anything really. It's a two hour wide angle shot of Ben Affleck being in a shitty relationship. Hmm...That being said, the camera work is pretty great, as is the case with most of Malick's work, but that's pretty much it. There is almost no story to speak of, to even remember as I write this review. The French woman could have gone back home at any time and spared everyone the pain of their crappy relationship. Instead, she decides to draw out what everyone knows is a doomed scenario.Malick should honestly have retired with the Tree of Life. It was excellent, and utilized the dreamy, wide-angle drawn out sequences very well, unlike here, where they are relied on to make up for a lack of substance.I don't really recommend this film to anyone. If you are a Malick fan, it will severely diminish your appreciation for him, as it is as pretentious as it is boring.

This is a very silent movie. I could barely hear the words they're saying. I thought there's something wrong with my home theater. So this is the style. But why? Don't they have something to say? Like a little louder? Only near the end I could hear 'em "yelling".I didn't really understand about the movie. The subtitles didn't really help. The film didn't really explain who is who. I got lost all the time. Especially about the struggling of faith experienced by Father Quintana. What's really happened to him? Does he want to have a lover? Because he seemed to talk about love all the time.Anyway, I love to see Marina. Her dancing, her emotion, her fragile heart. Sometimes she really looks like Brittany Murphy. And thank you so much for the view and nice cinematography, anyway. I really love it. Oh, is it true that Marina had sex with other guy because Neil never "touch" her? I'm so curious.
