By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

A real downer. Let's cut to the chase. Jack Frost (Martin Short) wants to cash-in on Christmas and creates a cheap. tacky version of a SantaLand "theme park" at the North Pole. He takes over as Santa Claus. It starts out really cute and ya' gotta "luv" the fabulous representations of the Council of Legendary Figures. The Easter Bunny is, well, rabbit-like, and Mother Nature is gorgeous. A huge and beautiful set until Jack Frost's mischief freezes and wreaks it all. Ann-Margaret still looks good here. Little "Liliana" Mumy (her dad is Billy Mumy from "Lost in Space") is as cute as she can be (as Lucy). She warms Jack Frost's frozen heart. The "fun chemistry" of the first film is otherwise lacking for the most part. The other cute gimmick is SC trying to pass off the North Pole as Canada for his In-Laws benefit. It plods along. people bicker, fight, and yell. In the last half hour, the nightmarish scene (it scared my kids) when the original Santa falls off the roof (12 years earlier) is replayed not once, but twice. Both Scott and his ex-wife are divorced, and it's just terribly sad. It should have been much funnier. I hope they don't make a 4th one. Chet the Reindeer, Barnaby the Elf, and the Tooth Fairy only appear for a split-second. Santa's mustache is awful, (like cardboard) and almost falls off, but Jack Frost's make-up is outstanding.

Tim Allen, Martin Short, Elizabeth Mitchell, Judge Reinhold, Wendy Crewson, Eric Lloyd, Liliana Mumy, Spencer Breslin, Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin star in this 2006 comedy sequel. This installment is like, "It's a Wonderful Life" where Scott Calvin (Allen) is stressed out and wonders what it would be like if he didn't become Santa Claus. He's now married to Carol Newman aka Mrs. Clause (Mitchell) and they're expecting a baby. He meets her parents, Bud (Arkin) and Sylvia (Margret) while trying to run the North Pole. His notorious friend, Jack Frost (Short) secretly takes one of his snow globes while sabotaging the North Pole and alters time when tricking him into wishing he never became Santa. Scott tries to fix things and stop Jack from taking over the North Pole. Reinhold returns as Neil, Crewson as Laura, Lloyd as Charlie, Mumy as Lucy and Breslin as elf, Curtis. This sequel isn't bad, Short is probably the highlight of it and it's too bad Bernard (David Krumholtz) wasn't in it. I still recommend this.

Tim Allen and co return for one final outing as the modern day Santa and his extended family have to put up with Jack Frost trying to take over Christmas. After the first two films in the series this third instalment was always going to have high standards to beat and although this is a good attempt it fails to do this. I don't mind the 'It's a Wonderful Life' style scenario but feel that there is too much build up to Scott evoking the escape clause and not enough of him solving the problem.Martin Short is on fine form as Frost and Allen shines again as Santa but some of the heart that was present in the first two outings seems to be missing. Reinhold and Crewson are reduced to extended cameos and David Krumholtz's absence as Bernard is noticeable.Overall this is a decent film to conclude the trilogy but it remains the weakest link in what is overall a fine set of films. My advice though would be to buy the box set of these films because there are magical moments to be found in each one.

This installment doesn't quite live up to the first two, however, it's my 6-year-old daughter's favorite of the three ... so, go figure? My favorite happens to be "The Santa Clause 2," because of the romance aspect, plus young Lucy is adorable and it was neat to see Charlie 8 years later.Martin Short is great as Jack Frost, it's a real treat to see Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin as Carol's parents and it's great seeing all the originals from the first two films back for the third (a rare feat in Hollywood). The overall trilogy is absolutely great and fun for the entire family to watch, plus all the extras on the DVDs are a lot of fun, too.
