Five Minarets in New York
Two Turkish anti-terrorist agents are sent to New York City on a mission to find and bring back the dangerous Islamic leader codenamed "Dajjal", believed to be hiding in there. Working with the FBI and NYPD, the agents orchestrate the arrest of Hadji Gumus, a well-respected Muslim scholar and family man who years before fled to the United States after being released from a Turkish prison, where he served time for murder. This tale love, friendship, peace and prejudices, takes us on a journey seeking to answer the question of whether innocence or guilt even matters to one who lusts for vengeance.

This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
A Major Disappointment
It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
The script and story is a direct link to how society and government views the Muslim nation after 9 11. A captivating story of the search for a supreme leader in the terrorist organization with ties to Turkey. One of the Turkish officers is hiding a decades old secret and God sees all as is parlayed throughout the film. A direct homage to the faith true Muslims share and what we as Americans fear. The film is written by and direct by Mahsun Kirmizigul who also portrays the lead Fyrat. Good performances by Gina Gershon as the wife to Hadji and Danny Glover as Marcus. I found the fil strikingly captivating and well rounded. I give this a solid 7out of 10
I have found a new genre of movies. And some fantastic film making skills in Turkish cinema. Spectacular story telling with seamless infusion of relevant messages and entertainment. I borrowed the DVD from a friend, but now I am buying the DVD.Its a heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, almost epic, thriller with more than a good measure of fantastic action sequences. Having visited Turkey and with my great respect to the Turkish culture, I am glad the director maintained a thoroughly authentic style of telling the story from a Turkish point-of-view, yet not compromise on it's view-ability for an international audience.A great weekend movie or a movie for any occasion where you just need something different to Hollywood movies.Respect to Turkish Cinema!
I can't believe this movie has got 6.0/10 rating! People must be mad.. Don't waste 2 precious hours of your life by watching this..I had the misfortune of actually buying a ticket to see this in theater, just to witness how awful this piece of **** is! One of the most overrated Turkish films..Acting is miserable.. Directing is all over the place.. It feels like a collection of many short videos than a movie.. Editing is bad.. Stereotypical Mahsun Kirmizigul melodrama is there.. Singer turned director hits the iceberg this time.. I actually found his previous efforts pretty decent, but this is one genuinely useless movie.. It's a disgrace to the art of cinema!
I am at awe to see couple of bad reviews on here. The only thing I can think of it is that the bad reviews come from the followers of the biggest cancer in Turkey who is Fettullah or maybe some other ethnic rebellious thinkers. Bottom line is that this movie gives a great depiction of everything. The power of using Islam for good, and that people in the end are victims of being uneducated. Movie was fantastic in every way. The actors, the filming - everything. It is a must see. Haluk Bilginer gave an amazing performance. Mahsun Kirmizigul despite me having previous negative thoughts against him and quite frankly not thinking too highly of him was a pleasant surprise. Mustafa Sandal despite being a terrible singer turned out to be a decent actor. Danny Glover and Gina of course were at 5 star performances again.
