Absolutely the worst movie.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Alright, well first of all I must admit that having a pro wrestler with a single name star in a horror slasher movie doesn't really have all that much of an appeal. However, given the fact that this is a horror and a slasher movie, then I did give the movie a chance and sat down to watch it.Color me unimpressed..."See No Evil" turned out to be just another average and generic slasher movie that failed to stand out in the genre. The killer was so very mundane and generic that it was almost embarrassing to watch on the screen. The Jacob Goodnight character was no Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger, that's for sure. Sure, he was a massive hulk in physical size, but he was just not a memorable character, nor did he have any characteristic that you would instantly associate this character with.It made no sense that maggots and flies came out of his head when Jacob Goodnight was wounded. Sure, it had a visual effect, but it was just not something that made sense or really justified being in the movie. There were some good kills, in terms of brutality and ways that people were killed. Which is always a plus in a slasher movie, because that is what us fans of the slasher genre come to expect from the movies. So that was a definite bonus. The character gallery in "See No Evil" was every bit as generic and one-dimensional as you could expect from a slasher movie. That means that you don't really connect with the characters in the movie, and you are just essentially waiting for the slasher to pick them off one by one.If you enjoy the slasher genre, then you might find some enjoyment in "See No Evil", however you shouldn't have too much of any kind of expectation to the movie though.I have actually seen it twice now, once when it came out in 2006 and then once again 11 years later. I watched it again in 2017 because I couldn't really remember much from the first time watching it. But it didn't turn out to be any kind of pleasant surprise.

I must say that "See No Evil" is actually a great horror movie. As an independent horror movie I think that WWE did the Horror genre right. They made a movie true to the Horror genre as well as a movie that doesn't patronize it's fan base. Glenn Jacobs, or as WWE Fans will know him as "Kane", did an excellent job as the bad guy Jacob Goodnight. His upbringing is true to an insane person who is understandable. The 'victims' of the movie did a good job in the sense of horror movie acting, nothing special but was believable enough that the audience can accept them as real characters. Even if you are even a minor horror fan, ie Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and other popular horror movie series, you will like this movie. I definitely suggest watching this film because it is entertaining and true to the horror genre at the same time. It is a great horror film that will be a part of the horror genre for a long time to come.

A small minority of horror films have left me speechless. This is one of those. One word to describe it, is limited, and chiefly I'm talking about the low use of violence, like a car running low on fuel. When seeing the poster for this flick, our killer star, obviously involved in wrestling, I expected this film to much gorier. Surprisingly the film is made by a guy, who's made a lot of b sex pics, although responsible that well made porn docu, Fallen Angels. This film has a short sheeted feel. Suspense is low, as really waiting for something to happen, while the premise and back story is quite good. Starring a few ocker stars, including the sexy Rachel Taylor, in her earlier acting stage. She's part of a group of lock up juveniles who take an excursion to an abandoned hotel to clean it up, sort of like doing community service, where Taylor's rebellious character, who gives the film some sexy spark, has other things in mind. What's also been abandoned in this hotel is a caged bald headed psycho, nasty serial killer Jacob, who's thought to be dead, where one of the cops behind this case, will see to it, he succeeds this time. When the violence happens, it happens: be appreciative. The performances are good, especially from an older Tiffany Lamb (remember her) as the officer in charge of the girl juvies, while Vidler (of course, good) is in in charge of the juvie boys. Kane, whatever mainly has to grunt and yell, and KILL. The film, though not a bad one, just has a short sheeted feel about it. It could of been better, definitely much, where really we're left with is sadly a forgettable horror, (not as forgettable as it's lead) where it's a fifty fifty decision, if deciding to having a second viewing.

I'm actually writing this review after my second viewing of 'See No Evil.' The reason being is because I like slasher films and I rented this again because I'd forgotten I'd seen it! That kind of gives you a clue as to the impact the film originally had on me.It's about a bus-load of unusually-attractive young convicts (all girls look like models and all lads are rugged and good-looking) who are allowed out of the youth detention centre for a weekend in order to help clean an abandoned hotel. Naturally, this location just happens to be inhabited by a complete nutter who likes to pluck youngsters' eyes out and keep them in jars (guess it beats stamp collecting?).With modern slasher films, it seems that most try to go either one of two ways: they either play it straight and everything's really dark and serious. Or they go for the over-the-top effect and it's a bit tongue in cheek with blatantly-stupid gore etc. See No Evil goes for the former. It's all dark and gloomy. And, to be fair, the atmosphere is good. It's all very dark and claustrophobic and the sets are nicely foreboding. However, the gore itself is nothing special. There's little more to mention than in your average (original) Friday 13th film. The youngsters who run about the place screaming and generally dying are functional. They do their job well. The adults in the group are pretty much redundant and you'll probably see the twist coming a mile off. But, if you're into slasher films, this one is definitely not down there with the worst of them, but, like I said, I watched it once, forgot I had done and then accidentally watched it again. Not that I regret it, it's just the sort of film that will get lost among the many slasher films any fan of the genre has seen.Special mention to 'Kane' who plays the killer well.
