Good concept, poorly executed.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

I actually liked "A Haunted House" so I was going into this movie with high hopes that lightning could hit twice, but instead of striking, it misses the target completely. The movie is basically a retread of "The Conjuring" with references to "Insidious," "Sinister" and some smaller horror references (the son has an invisible friend named "Tony" ala "The Shining."), but it's really an excuse for rampant profanity, objectionable sexual references and more simulated pornography segments. There are weak comedy moments that go on forever (Wayans simulates an exceedingly long repeated rape of a "demon doll" eight minutes long after it stopped being funny) and endless nauseating sexual references. (Wayans makes endless "box" references as a metaphor to a girl's pubic area.) The movie just doesn't have the creative edge or the honest character dialogue of the first flick, instead relying on non-stop slapstick, dark humor and Wayans's ability to make faces and scream like a girl. There are a few funny moments (Wayans types in his computer: "When will they stop making "Scary Movies" without the Wayans Brothers?"), but they are so few. The movie also repeats a lot of material that wasn't all that funny in the first movie: a dog gets killed (again), Cedric the Entertainer shows up for no reason (again), characters ramble on about nonsense (again), Wayans simulates endless sex acts on an inanimate object (again)….. It's as if they paid no attention to the script and just made it up as they went along. Essence Atkins appears for what seems to be just a tacked-on cameo without adding anything to the movie. Comedian Rick Overton is wasted in a role that is stretched into an extremely unnecessary and boring "Breaking Bad" sequence. Jamie Pressley is vastly underused; only appearing as a "straight man" to Wayans bouncing and screaming all over the place as the Devil Doll plays out the role of a "former-girlfriend-turned-stalker." There's just not much more to the movie to that. It's not terribly funny, nor is it creative or edgy; it just drags on like a body behind a car.

This is a funny film, but it has a few flaws, and the most common part was the part when the doll part, it was more like a porn shoot and some parts drag on, the racism is pretty ridiculous, but I would recommend to watch this if you got a good sense of humor and at least it's sort of a film that that carry's on from the last one. The scary movie's start off with a fresh idea and different horror films included each time and still keeps its humor at the same time, probably the funniest part of the film is at the start when the safe flattens the dog and turns into a pancake and he tries to blow into the dogs mouth and pumps it up with a bike pump. Yeah with the black and Mexican racism drags on but you can of course see they are using it as a joke but it's kinda ridiculous. But yeah most of this is a porn shoot with a little comedy thrown in. The calls Malcom has with the professor is funny and weird but seems as another porn shoot yet again. You should find this funny

Haunted House 2 is raunchier, louder, sweatier and more racially charged. But is it funnier? Sadly, the answer is no.In a follow up to Marlon Wayan's very funny Haunted House, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) is dealing with demons again. This time he's traded in his old girlfriend Keisha for Megan (Jaime Presley) who is White. Why is that important? Because of the terrible racial jokes that it set up and just the overall awkwardness as Malcolm prolifically used the N word. Couple that with more of his over-the-top antics and you have a huge flop. Many of the scenes were dragged on too long. Either the scenes were monologues that had passed the point of funny/humorous and entered into tired and monotonous; or the scenes were physical humor that followed the same pattern. It was as if he had 30 minutes of material that he needed to make into 90. That never works.I know that both this movie and the predecessor are rated R, but he really milked that R rating for all it's worth. His extended, vomit inducing sex scene with the doll was enough to make the movie rated R+ (if there is such a thing). This movie was very disappointing. Even Cedric the Entertainer, whom I like, delivered a sub-par performance. Why does Marlon think that sweating, drooling and yelling make for a funnier movie? Put in some effort and write something worth filming.

The movie is the sequel of the last year's well known horror film parody by Marlon Wayans. It could have been guessed easily, because if we were talking about „scary movies", than the name of the Wayans brothers come into everybody's mind immediately. For me they form a duo, only whose face is enough to being seen on a movie poster to get myself excited about the actual production. It was also the same situation with this movie, but the final result has ended up with a medley packed with hard mix of emotions.Marlnon Wayans is still hilarious for me, and I think it will never change. Overall I consider the movie a really good entertainment, however the notorious comic actor has some really weird moments when he successfully managed to not poorly exaggerate and overdo his role. Sometimes when something was humorous at the beginning turned out to be a vigorous effort by the end, which is often delayed in time. So it felt to me sometimes, that it's primary purpose was to lengthen the runtime of the movie. So occasionally we can laugh on some scenes at the beginning, but after a short time that smile starts to get faded away, even though the scene continues which was intended to be funny. The casting crew has changed a little bit. For example Wayans has an other girlfriend who is just as annoying on the big screen (and untalented) than the previous one. However, she's a perfect choice for an aesthetic element (most likely it was the goal of her role). The children do not appear on the screen so often, which made me really happy initially, because personally speaking I'm not really keen for the young actors. Buti n this movie, when the young boy was just about showing up for a minute and saying a short monologue, a loud laughter erupted from me. I really rarely say that to a child actor, but I think he did a remarkable job!In addition, the range of characters extended with a Mexican-style amigo (who plays Wayans neighbor by the way). He's become my favorite after his first appearance on the screen. I was infatuated with listening to his non-sense spiels, and I've just loved him creating more and more amusing sentences within fractions of a second.Otherwise the funny scenes of the movie were very similar to what we could experience in its predecessor, so if you liked the first one you'd probably like this one about the same. I think they overdid the sex-related gags a little bit. 2 or 3 are even funny, the 5th is not so, but after the tenth the production is about getting really dull and monotonous. However, the film is not too long, so it doesn't leave us enough time to get bored.Overall, the movie is not worthy for the standard created by the classic „Scary Movie", but I consider it a perfect evening entertainment, if you simply wanna have fun.Rating 5/10Thanks for spending your precious free time with reading my review! Hope you liked it!
