Good story, Not enough for a whole film

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

The message was plain and simple; Florida is flat and they will bulldoze it until they have cleared it coast to coast and there is no room left for the wildlife. They have bought all the politicians and they are tearing the state up little by little.This isn't an Oscar winning film, but it is a good story and it had some good characters. I mean, I would have loved to go to science class taught by Jimmy Buffet.Logan Lerman (The Patriot) as Roy did an excellent job, and Brie Larson was cute as a button. And, we even got to see Carl Hiassen, the writer and one cool dude.If you care at all about the environment, then you should have your kids see this. maybe they will get inspired to do something before there is nothing left.

I just saw the movie today and was pleasantly surprised. I thought the storyline was very creative and well put together. All the character where very relate able you could be the tomboy girl like Beatrice or the normal guy who is just trying to survive a new school and life like Roy or you can be a rebel like mullet fingers. The movie stood out to me cause it was clean but still very enjoyable. Every character added their own element to the story. And this is a must see by everyone.It has that light, that i think everyone will get use of, that makes you want to just do whatever you think is right and fight for your voice. So kids or teenagers, do have voice that is very well deserving of being heard, we might all learn something!!Very creative, story was great, its just a must see hands down!!

The first time I saw this movie, I brought my 10 year old sister and she loved it. I thought it was pretty good (though I've never read the book) It was nice to see some of the big names in a smaller movie. The day I brought my sister to it was the best time we had in a long time and so whenever I watch it, I think about what a great time we had together. If you want to spend some quality time with your family, this is a great movie with an amazing cast and really awesome music! I love Jimmy Buffet! The meaning and lesson in this movie is also a nice one, we don't see many movies like this anymore. We usually so busy with our own lives in our own little worlds that it is nice to take a break for about two hours to watch this movie. The quality of the acting/filming is pretty good too, which is another plus.

May be I don't get it right. I mean the movie. It does not make me happy or whatever has to do . Maybe because of my mood. Anyhow this one is a simple family movie with kids for actors. Just admit that - all movies of that kind cannot pass the barrier of 4 out of 10 never mind who is playing in the movie(example Antonio Banderas was playing in that kind of movies... two or three of them cant remember the exact count). I got bored. I almost fall asleep just because the topic is so cliché and the actor play was so predictable. But I am sure that my kid will love this movie when he grows up... Hey Im not a monster I found some hilarious or good moments in the movie. The owls in the movie were sooooo cute. The trick with the painted police car windows and the hits that the kid received in the head by a golf ball...
