How sad is this?
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Well, I guess the reason I'm rating it as high as 7/10, is because I expected it to be *a lot* worse. If a movie features a failed/has-been pop singer, you know that it simply *can't* be good. Having seen one other movie with Jessica Simpson (can't even recall what it's called), I can say with absolute certainty that she is truly talentless, and *really* not funny.Actually, she is not the only one -- the acting in general was quite bad in this movie. Not the worst I've seen, but bad nevertheless. The biggest problem (aside from the acting), in my option, was lack of humour. There were a couple of semi-funny moments, but that's not enough if you're going to present your movie as comedy. The jokes were quite weak, and, well, not funny.Overall, however, it's not *that* bad. Obviously, nothing remarkable about it, but many movies in this genre are *much* worse -- they are just annoying and downright unwatchable, but this was actually mildly entertaining, which, like I said, was more than I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised -- hence the high rating.
Really enjoyed Employee of the Month, Its laugh out loud funny in places and the writing and direction are solid, don't get me wrong it's not the comedy of decade but deserves more than 5.5 so felt that I have to write a few positive words.Zack is a really likable character, well played by Dane Cook but Vince steals the show, a great comic performance, some great lines and situations, the supporting cast are all interesting and likable and are played well especially Jorge, Vinces sidekick and Glen Gary ( or Glen Ross) the store manager who really hams up the part and what's not to like or look about Jessica Simpson?Well worth and hour and a half of your time.
Employee Of The Month is just one of those comedy films that actually was fun to watch as soon as you pop it.Granted there are characters that could have been done with out and no this film will not win any rewards but it is pretty fun.Employee Of The Month follows the story of Zack (Dane Cook) and Vince (Dax Shepard) as they fight to be Employee Of The Month to try and impress Amy (Jessica Simpson). Just watching this film it gives you quite the laugh as it is full of clever and funny one liners from Zack and Vince. It also features a very good soundtrack with songs that were made for the movie.Dane Cook is really funny in this film and he show case his talents in comedy films plus Dax made that kind of villain that show how much an antagonist he is through the film. Jessica did what she could in the film. Jessica and Dane did work well together in the film. There are characters you will feel like they shouldn't be there but with Dane, Dax and Jessica in the film you can just forget about the other characters that you don't like in the film. The film story is really the selling point of course with Dane, Dax and Jessica being the main stars of the film. With a good story and laugh out moments with good one liners you should enjoy this film.I give Employee Of The Month an 8 out of 10
Read some of the comments and i was PML.... so many people were like... unreal unreal unreal UN REAL! and i am just there like its a comedy what do you expect? i get most of the people on here are either stupid kids or teens who know nothing about the movie industry or how a movie is made... but know we have gone into a new era of ignorance of genre... literally i am disappointed with man kind now... fair enough if you don't find this movie funny naturally then i respect that but if you look at a movie like this which has a blatant image showing of that is going to be quirky and daft and think "hm... this looks like it could be entertaining i mean look how serious and dramatic and well laid out the movies plot is laid out" then i am sorry you are just plain stupid. a comedy is a genre of entertainment that is there to make you laugh through different variations of styles... comedies have never been about the seriousness or realism it has been based of the daftness or the shock or the unexpected actions of a character in a certain situation or to weird you out or see something in a unimaginable way... its not there to create an emotionally engaging story like titanic.. the only comedy i know that was actually an comedy not just a action or drama flick that throws one or two jokes here and there that i am aware f that has won an Oscar is Forest Gumps... i haven't seen any other comedy... proper comedy that has won a Oscar besides that movie... if we carry on as a generation ignorant of genres as well as how hard people actually make movies then i am concerned with what movies people will be able to make these days... its a wonder we have remakes or shitty drama wannabes...
