I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much

Nice effects though.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Once heard Cem Yilmaz is starring I expected somewhat comedy, like GORA and Yahsi Bati, it was so though, until last ten percent. It suddenly turned into hard drama. I don't understand who the target audience are? Comedy lovers or drama addicts? Anyway, scenery, Aegean village, farmers, tobacco fields, spring, lulaby, open-air cinema were so nice. When compared with Ottoman period TV series scenery was far better, which are just composed of a bunch of Belgrade Forest and pompous costumes. But I felt like I was in the 1970's while watching it. Just a moment I thought the topic is just about a child's weird tides in Ramadan. In animation part, ant's "I'll die on my way" catchword was so cliché. I expected something more deep. Mosque scenes were unnecessarily long. Some players imitated pretty well Aegean sweet accent while others mucked up. Some latent messages were splattered through movie, especially on contrast with ordinary villagers and scholar boy, Hasan. Cibar Kemal resembles Iskender in Hokkabaz in many ways.

I was born in 1993. I did not live in 70's-80's but i heard, read and watched so many stories about it. I'm not from Aegean Region. I was born and living in Ankara in Central Anatolia Region. These two regions have different types of people and day life. But this movie brought me my childhood. Made me smile. Ending scenes of movie made me almost cry. Maybe people who out of Turkey, cannot understand but we will. We'll cry for who are our lost before. Good project, good acting, good script, good directing. This movie deserves 10 out of 10.

As you can read in other reviews and critics about the movie, it is not one of the typical Cem Yılmaz movies which are usually full of humor and sarcasm. The atmosphere and the characters, especially who speak the local accent, have made the film more realistic and hearty.The story is well written in the sense of unity and continuity. It holds the attention and curiosity of the audience on the story. But the plot is spread with the themes which are apart from each other. At first you feel like it is a movie showing the cruel times of Turkey in 1980s when the military took control of the country with a putsch and killed, tortured and imprisoned many people. But then you are confused because of the religious teachings and advice are being given by different characters in the whole movie.For example; the conservation between the ant and Adem about pilgrimage in his daydream. And the revolutionary conversations and sayings of Hasan makes you think that it is a movie about the revolution or anti-capitalism. You can't get the gist of the movie because of these different and irrelevant themes. If you watch the movie in this perspective you will catch lots of scenes like that. My interpretation about those superfluous religious scenes is that it is an effort to adapt the movie to conservative atmosphere of Turkey, which means not to disturb the community which is in charge with a conservative vision and also to expand the variety of audience. Except from the things mentioned above, it is an enjoyable and at the same time heart burning movie.

When I was watching the movie, I had a lot of thoughts, critics, and feelings. I thought the part on the religious advises and the speech parts that the master of Adem (Cibali Kemal) was quite long. But this can be due to my interests, my perspective, some may find them all on right dosage. So this is a subjective opinion. I loved acting of Adem, Hasan, mother and father of Adem, Imam (Macit Koper) also other children. I remembered my childhood and the horrors, concerns I had due to being naive and lacking knowledge. For Cem Yılmaz's acting, unfortunately Cem Yılmaz has the disadvantage of being famous as a comedian and I could not feel the sincerity of his role a lot. Still he caught some details well, reflected the physical condition of the role very good (this is also the success of the director). When he spoke, I felt like a childish speak rather than an Aegean accent (the other actors had this accent really good). But his body acting was very good. Overall, I liked the movie, I felt the sincerity, good will, and hard work (on both the plot and the film making). The animated parts were also good. After the movie I have the urge to investigate more about some parts, ask more on those times to my parents (who are Aegean descents). I can watch this movie many times, try to catch some of the sayings, conversations. Thanks to everyone who had this hard work and dedication, we need such good movies in Turkey.
