Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

My opinion ---I do not have many resentments, nor understood the things that are in power to make this movie a good movie. I find that "Marina De Van" by trying on horror film, music, music, music, music and music. "Missy Keating" was considered an excellent in her role and happy, otherwise the film would have been a disaster. In conclusion little horror movie with some good effects, it's too just to make a good movie ...

The "summary", refers to the film's weirdest line, at the climax of the film.It goes something like this, " Education used to be easy, but these days everyone has an opinion." ???? Was that supposed to be a joke? The film- makers seemed to concentrate on the looks of the film and the actors, more than the story. All the actors were "pretty", as was the scenery. I liked listening to the rich Irish accents. Unfortunately, the story seemed quite amateurish, as it contained bits and pieces from other movies, stuck together haphazardly. It jumbled "Carrie", "Who can Kill a Child", "Village of the Damned" and another recent Irish horror story,"The Daisy Chain", in which a little girl/elf burns her parents to death. The imagery was well done, but the plot was basically incoherent, with very little real story.

Written and directed by Marina de Van, DARK TOUCH is a psychological thriller. In a remote country home in Ireland, 11 year old Neve(Missy Keating) is the soul survivor of a bloody massacre. Her mother and father and little brother appear to be savagely attacked and the officials believe homicidal hooligans are to blame. Neve keeps repeating that the house did it. The social services place the traumatized young girl with close friends of the family. Get ready for creepy! The nurturing couple do all they can to help Neve overcome the tragedy; but something dangerous and evil is ready to attack again. If you watch very closely you can get a hint at what leads up to these horrible events. And on the other hand, after sitting through a terrible ending...you leave skeptical and a tad incoherent. Miss Keating is wonderful in this role. Rounding out the cast: Padraic Delaney, Marcella Plunkett, Charolotte Flyvholm, Steve Wall, Simon Boyle and Richard Donner.

Great atmosphere and mood. Held my interest for most of the film till the end and then it just lost all associations with a plot.Spoilers####### I love a good psychological mystery but I also like some answers. This movie promised the first but did not deliver on the second. If you want resolution of any kind do not watch this film. Why kill the kids, why kill the foster parents, why not kill the other 2 kids at the end, why the girl dying of cancer, why the blood in the eyes, and the list goes on. I'm a smart fella and I can usually piece a film together but not this one. And that really disappoints. To take a emotional loaded topic like child abuse and spin it in totally non associated tangents is in poor taste and screams exploitation. The director had a chance and a good setting to maybe shed a different light on the subject but she failed.
