Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Can't believe this work of art missed out on any nominations. It's a scandal!
It's basically about a Native American shapeshifter or spirit wolf who protects his area it's ironically from those destroying the environment and Native American habitat. It's the last Native American in the area that can destroy the werewolf. The acting is pretty good in this one. The CGI is OK - it's actually not bad. The story, is merely OK - it's not great but it's not all that bad either. I find this one somewhere in the middle. It's not too bad for a made for TV movie - hey at least they created a werewolf movie lol.If you like werewolf movies and have seen most of them already - I would say go ahead and watch this one to check off your I have seen this werewolf movie list.5/10
The accents are appalling... Being from the area that the movie was filmed at, I'm insulted that the actors refused to learn a Cajun accent instead of sounding like a redneck hillbilly from northern Louisiana. You should really have you writers and production staff research and visit mot just the area but also the people and culture of that area to increase the illusion of reality. The bar scene at dock of the bay, really sierra Nevada IPA, really. Any abita beer would have been more appropriate, Bud light at the least.Other then that I enjoyed the story and plot very much.Oh, by the way, Louisiana is home to coyotes.Other then that I have really nothing else to write about. I hope everyone else enjoyed the picture as much as I did even with my discrepancies. Ya'll have a great day.
I am an avid watcher of SyFy's original movies and always find myself laughing at the how poorly made the films are, so when I finished watching Monsterwolf on Saturday night, I have to admit that SyFy has stepped it up with this one! Sure, the CGI wolf was laughable at times, but overall the effects were pretty good, the cast was great, the script was fun, and some of the locations were beautiful. I hope to see more quality movies like this from SyFy as I was a little concerned about the future of the Saturday night premieres after some of the recent releases. The frustrating thing for me when I typically watch these movies is that it is pretty clear that they don't care if the movie looks good, don't care about the effects, don't care about the acting. It was nice to feel like SyFy actually cared about making a good movie! Haha.
