Admirable film.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
The movie start with ray who helping to kids out the car after crash however there is some kind old box on the back seat as he goes to get the car that was half hanging of a very low bridge , Which falls and snakes come out the box, this is as some really bad effects and ray is taken to morgue only for his body to go missing. Then people are being killed of one by one by ray, Who Seem to be some kinda of voodo zombie snake man The acting in this movie as got be some of the worse I ever seen in a very long time.I am going to give this movie a 3 out 10
Deep in the cajun hell of Lousiana swamps an old women uncovers a suitcase guarded by a fang gris-gris. Within it lies a dark secret of voodoo rituals, which the woman, a Voodoo mambo, aims to recover in order to bury or destroy. Unfortunately her car participates in a road accident which releases the contents of the suitcase - two venomous snakes. Ray (Rick Cramer), a tow-truck driver, is attacked by the snakes and is soon after found dead in the water by local. Soon afterwards however Ray rises from the dead and starts his murderous rampage...A horror story like many others. And due to this immensely hard to review. The scenery backdrop of the story is naturally encapsulating, but that is all that keeps you involved. Other from that this snakes mouth is full of rotting fangs, which fall out one by one leaving a toothless monster story to painfully unfold. Characters are barely brushed upon, while the story bogs down into inconsistencies and copycat repetitiveness. Almost each scare or kill reeks of deja vu. Some of the scenes even seem to borrow from others in the same movie. The movie starts off with a silent hiss and ends abruptly when the script finally runs out of air. Doomed to be a passing memory in the horror genre and only a fleeting memory in my mind, noted only by the existence of this scarce review.
Venom tells the tale of Ray Sawyer. A lonely man in a sleepy town who everyone whispers about yet no one really knows where that jagged scar down his face came from. Nothing really happens in Rays life, nothing really happens in this small Louisiana town until one night while driving home Ray rescues an old Creole lady from her car that dangles precariously from a bridge. While in the car Ray is suddenly attacked by a suitcase full of venomous snakes which are rumoured to contain the evil souls of the criminally insane. As the car crashes into the river below so does poor Ray and his kind act is rewarded with a car full of snakes striking him with deadly painful bites in his last few moments of life. The following night Rays body disappears from the morgue and what follows is 24 hours of pure terror as this small town is held hostage to an unstoppable Ray Sawyer back from the dead and possessed by the evil spirits of the insane intent on claiming more souls from this towns locals. This is a supernatural slasher with a high body count and a twist. You can spot the trademarks of Producer/Screen-Writer Kevin Williamson ("Scream", "Dawsons Creek", "I know what you did last summer", "The Faculty", "Cursed") everywhere in this very enjoyable movie. From the dialogue savvy Teens to the tension filled chase scenes and the genuinely creepy killer that is Ray Sawyer, who nick-named "Mr. Jangles" because he collects the keys of his victims, could be the new Jason Voorhees/Michael Myers. Murderous highlights include a graphic throat slashing with a wrench, a death by sand blaster, a character ripped in two while caught between driving cars and a memorable nerve-racking chase scene through the eerie swamps of the bayou. Forget the negative reviews, leave your brain at the door and enjoy this superior atmospheric throw-back to the slasher genre.
I rented this movie a couple of weeks back and let me tell you its one of the best slasher movies i have seen in a long time. This guy just doesn't stop! some really great kills in this movie. The cast is great! Some pretty shocking Deaths. Laura Ramseys Character gets pulled out of a car by with a chain around her neck and then gets pinned to a tree! I was like OMG! This guy really has no remorse! Id like to see him go up against big bad Jason or Freddy. A classic movie from beginning to end. Enjoy!Acting 9/10 Suspense 8/10 Script 8/10Overall 8/10
