This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

This is one of the worse films made by Asylum. I am a lover of their bad films and this one tickled my funny bone. The DVD cover similar to "Rosemary's Baby" leaves no mystery as to the identity of the baby. The film opens with a Mayan calendar, some Bible verses, and words spoken about pharaohs just to cover all the bases. Our "Damien" or Sebastian in this case is born C-section, the kind of C-section where they use no anesthetic and the mother (Sara Malakul Lane) cries in pain. Our infant, which looks like an ugly prop from a David Lynch film, was apparently inspired by the bunny in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" as he can fly around and grab people by the jugular with his long razor sharp teeth. In spite of the kid having teeth and clearing out the birthing room in a deadly fashion, mom ignores it all and opts to breast feed...ouch!12/12/12 is something that is used by a doomsday cult, most likely because my nephew born on 6/6/66 is boring and sells insurance. The detective (Steve Hanks) has a fondness for lollipops...Oh where did the writers come up with that?!This is a low budget film that goes absolutely no where. The plot doesn't flow well and is haphazard. The dialouge and acting was bad, but if you are going to use bad actors, rule of thumb is to use pretty D-cup women so us guys won't care...thanks Asylum. This is a great film for bad Asylum film lovers as the budget and special effects are worse than usual.Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, rape, nudity (Sara Malakul Lane, Bonnie Grinberg) 7-9 stars for Asylum fans, 1 star for non-fans.

I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes with a straight face. I'm a nurse and the delivery scenes has the actors saying and doing so many wrong and ridiculous things, I couldn't stop laughing. Clearly, very little actual research was done for these scenes and the screenwriter went into fantasy mode based on how he imagines childbirth must be like. And whoever designed the vagina props has no real idea of what one looks like. Again, imagination. But I think it more likely that the prevailing mood was "We don't care!"Once I get this hilarity out of my system, I may try to watch the rest of this Z movie although I seriously doubt I will. Oh, let me think... Nope, I'm not going to finish this waste of time. And apparently, I can't use caps in the summary.

Let me just begin by saying that I have always finished EVERY movie that I've started - even if it is REALLY bad. I always think to myself, "Well there has to be something redeeming about this movie that can save it." This is the first movie in my entire 23 years of existence that I literally could NOT finish it because it was so painfully bad it was giving me anxiety. NOTHING about this film is well done at ALL. I came to this realization at about halfway through it and decided that enough was enough and that I'm just going to go to bed. LOLTo begin with, the writing is AWFUL, the general plot line is filled with plot holes even in the first 10 minutes of the film. The dialogue is terrible and unnatural, often doesn't even make sense. Characters are horribly written, feel out of place and not even in the least bit believable. Not like the actors were given much to work with, but their performances were all very contrived and completely unmotivated. It seems like they were all just trying to say the lines as quickly as they could so they could get off the set of this circle jerk.Everything else was awful as well - the editing seems like someone just learned how to use Final Cut Pro and decided to see how many cutaways and angles they could fit into one scene. The editing also amplified the actors' bad acting as well, due to the jarring edits that did not flow even slightly well together. Yikes. It also seems as if the Director of Photography just took a CINE 1 class because the cinematography in this film was painfully trying to be "artsy" and "gritty" with its shaky cam shots and rack focusing shots that completely fell flat. These shots did not fit well with the other shots, and again - they seemed very unmotivated. That one shot that was in the mirror made me cringe because it was trying so hard. UGH.Whoever sound designed this garbage must have just learned how to use Pro Tools as well, because the horrible echo effects and other sound design was completely off-key and sounded very rough and out of place. Not to mention, a lot of parts could have sure used some music (which was also bad by the way but not as bad as everything else) to at least add some layers to the bad acting and somehow hide it a little bit.Last but not least, the production design was also terrible. The set dressing was bare and looked completely unrealistic, the BABY was very obviously a doll (especially when the guy practically tossed the baby to that woman in the beginning after figuring out it wasn't his devil spawn), the blood was completely fake-looking, and what the hell was up with her belly in the beginning? That looked like a papier mache project gone wrong. The only redeeming thing in this film was perhaps the makeup because it was actually semi- realistic looking kind of. Literally everything else was T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E.Maybe I'll finish the rest of it tomorrow just for the hell of it but damn, that was one mediocre piece of amateur trash. I've worked on some amateur films before, and this film made all of those look like they could be nominated for Academy Awards.I honestly don't even know why I gave it two stars instead of one. I guess the extra star is because at least they made something? All in all though, it seems like a bunch of inexperienced and untrained (perhaps untalented) people got together, made a film, and while all of the components were there, they didn't fit together...because all of the components were sh*t.

The film opens with a human sacrifice in some dark underground cultist den. Then it jump shifts to a difficult birthing (Veronica, Carlos) in a modern hospital in Los Angeles. Mahari, the murderer from the first scene shows up; where did that come from? He disappears after murdering another woman who was trying to breastfeed her newborn. The arrogant physician goes to C-section after kicking out Carlos. This newborn is not delivered; he escapes. Even better, the 'newborn' never moves, but somehow kills the physician and the attending nurse. Someone else closes up Veronica, and she seems happy and calm while breast feeding the monster that just killed two people. What a fine beginning that was. Mahari, still in physician's garb, tries to enter the crime scene, but the cops prevent it.Six days later, Carlos, Veronica, and Sebastian go home. Soon odd occurrences start: the flies, the dead rat, Sebastian getting between Veronica's legs, Carlos pouring a kettle full of boiling water down his own throat, and Mahari shows up to try to steal Sebastian. When the cops show up, Child Social Services take Sebastian. ("We're the good guys, Mrs. Delgado." )Veronica goes to stay with her sister Gabriella Martinez. On the way to the baby lockup, CSS Officer Vokel gets killed by her seat belt. Barnes returns Sebastian to Veronica, saying a judge ordered it. Gabriella lets Barnes know she's still sore about CSS taking her child Brittany from her.The weird events start up again, of course. Barnes lets them know that Mahari is on their radar; he's a Mayan prophecies doom sayer.Sebastian kills Gabriella. This was entirely unbelievable. Mahari kills a variety of people. Sebastian goes off on his own. The dead rats and dead birds continue to be produced. The murders continue.Does this thing ever reach some sort of resolution? About 60 minutes in, the fall into random events with no particular narrative, motivation, or logic is next to complete. Unfortunately, the film continues.------Scores-------Cinematography: 5/10 Jerky camera movement; some of it so out of focus and badly framed that one would think the Blair Witch was nearby.Sound: 5/10 Overbearing in some spots, quite weak in others.Acting: 4/10 OK given the screenplay, I guess.Screenplay: 0/10 The birthing scene was a motivational mess. I suppose births have been handled that badly, but I certainly hope not. The C-section birth has all the realism and logical soundness of a Chucky movie. The later actions have the same sort of problems with credibility. The badness just never ends.SFX: 0/10 Hideous. Insulting to almost any sensibility. The scenes with Sebastian are ridiculous.
