This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Throughout my life, I've seen a thousand of horror movies, and many of them felt really bad. Considering some people in Brazil labeled it as a "surprising adventure", I decided watching it to see it myself. However, at this moment, I feel a big deception in my heart. "Fritt vilt" is a horror film filled with predictable situations, bad written characters and the classics clichés we've already seen out there. Long story short, there's a bunch of mindless people who never really tries killing the psycho; instead, they prefer running or walking through him for god knows what! Also, the story feels overlong, once there's a cat-and-mouse game going on for more than half an hour, which is an ABSURD. If you thought "Scream" had lame characters and incompetent policemen, you better watch "Fritt vilt" and reconsider your opinions about that film! Give me a break...

If you want a straight up solid slasher through and through look to Cold Prey. Why IMDb has this listed as a drama is beyond me.While on an off the maps snowboarding expedition one of the group breaks his leg badly. phones don't work in the middle of the mountains(beautiful scenery in Norway) and its getting dark, he cant walk to the car so they find close shelter in an abandoned hotel. Simple Premise, expertly told and paced. Not once did I not believe the characters or the choices they make.This really could be the most all around solid slasher i've seen and I have seen a ton of them. They are my favorite type of movie. THIS ONE IS GREAT. Really Solid Story as far as slashers come. Good cinematography, really breeds fear through its creepy shots. Solid sound editing/mixing. 0 plot holes. Pretty scary. Extremely... well... paced...That said don't expect anything new. Not my top slasher but definitely top 10. (Inside, High Tension, Halloween and Ils and the Strangers rank slightly higher for me if you count those last two as slashers,which I do) Every character is likable in some respect so your actually scared for them unlike the douchy characters in most modern American slashers. Really well acted by everyone in the film. Only 5 named characters. Killer is effectively scary. My only gripe about him is that he doesn't have the same iconic-ness that I feel he should(maybe my appreciation will grow). Solid scares but nothing absolutely omg heart stopping terrifying. Scariness would be 7.5/10 so still decent.Really if you enjoy a good slasher and haven't seen this do yourself a favor and watch it. You will not regret it.8/10 for the movie 9/10 in the slasher subcategory

Now I do like a good horror movie almost as much as the next seventeen year old, although I prefer when they are atmospheric other than in-your-face blood and gore. This movie tries to do both at the same time (but this time making the gore look realistic). It did sort of work but in my personal opinion this could have been better.Now, the plot. Five friends go on a skiing trip. They decide to ski in mountains. Eventually one breaks his leg. They take him to a very eerie looking hotel (of which later they find was closed 30 years ago) and spend the night. Then one by one they get killed by a man armed with a pick axe.I did like this movie. Mainly because I felt that they were trying to make a decent movie instead of just filming something generic to make more money. It was at times very suspenseful, but somehow the blood and gore almost kills it (No PUN intended). As a warning, the end credits song is in bad taste to what we have seen for the past hour and a half.So is this a decent watch? Yes it is. Just don't expect much when comparing it to horror classics. Although, sadly - this is one of the better horror movies of the past 13 years.

When I first saw this back in January 2008 I liked it but than I watched it a second time with a friend and fell in love with it. Any film involving snow I sort of take a shine too and this has had me smiling for years. The lead actress in Cold Prey just kicks ass and she is absolutely enthralling to boot. The setting is fantastic with a group of good looking twenty somethings that take refuge at a nearby ski lodge nestled tightly into the snow covered woods with a maniac on the loose. They must take refuge due to a rather gruesome skiing accident. After this the film is put into 5th gear as all the kids fend for their lives against the axe welding maniac. Now hands up if you have heard this plot say 1000 times in the 70's and 80's....yeah I thought so but Cold Prey has a Norwegian charm to it that pushes past its 70's and 80's American rivals and does so with gruesome delight. In my opinion right up there with the original Halloween, Friday the 13th part 2 and The burning. Now I am on to review Cold Prey 2.
