Memorable, crazy movie

Good movie but grossly overrated

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

While Pterodactyl is not a complete and utter dog's dinner, I still found it a poor movie with more bad things than good. Amy Sloan is interesting, and while wooden at times Cameron Daddo tries his best. But even they can't make up for the slapdash special effects, lazy directing or the editing which is the very definition of all-over-the-map. The dialogue is horrendous, so cheesy and grammatically problematic it hurt, the story reeks of predictability and stupidity completely devoid of any tension or suspense and the characters complete with generic names are poorly written stereotypes. The remainder of the acting was dire, and this is including Coolio, who is nowhere near as authoritative as his character should be. All in all, a poor movie saved only by one or two decent actors. 3/10 Bethany Cox

Like Tremors this is not meant to be art it is fun take it as such. it is a parody of this genre which i happen to like.only downer is loss of the geek and goofy blond so early.dialogue is simple and predictable yet watch it for the fun of it and enjoy.when was the last time you saw pterodactyls? the special effects weren't Star Wars but the flying dinosaurs at least didn't look like they were little clay figures.over all this is a movie to watch on a cloudy afternoon and talk back to the characters.

All I have to say is this is a pretty cool movie. It's the first movie where Pterodactyls are the main monster, not a sub-monster or a background monster but the main monster. The Pterodactyl effects are very good and I think the acting was pretty okay. There are some character issues in this, but what is perfect. For the most part I found it entertaining and enjoyable. My only real complaint is the boy making like a peeping Tom at the girl swimming. Hello, she had a swimsuit on, that's like being a voyeur at the beach. Coolio who is not my favorite person being in the "music" known as rap. But I think he does a pretty fair acting job in this. I believed him as a army soldier in this odd situation, plus shoot first and keep shooting is the way of the army. So all and all a pretty well made monster movie with all the jumps and scares in the right place. I give it 8 STARS.

This movie is crap, even the soldiers in the movie, don't look or even act like soldiers, they just extras wearing military uniforms. Interesting why in these sort of movies, early on, they are all wearing their army helmets, yet later in the movie, none are wearing their helmets despite under combat conditions. There is one soldier that seems unable to keep the smile off his face, like been in the movie is one funny joke, which it is.Then there is the hot babe, who is simple in the movie because she is hot and ends up, a victim like in all these sort of movies.The special effects are not too bad.This movie was made to give a group of b-grade actors something to do.
