Excellent, Without a doubt!!

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

A woman awakens in a wooden box with no explanation how she got there or why. Before-hand she had been at home with her young daughter.When a man comes and kind of drags her out of the box she doesn't ask who he is, where they are or how she got there. That's the first thing I would want to be asking.The victim is one of the most irritating I have ever come across. Screaming, begging, whimpering, absolutely pathetic escape attempts. If it wasn't for her it would be a pretty good movie. Great bad guy, mysterious, a real good psychopath.

I decided to Google search for underrated Directors and I'm so glad I did since this is how I found Adam Mason's work. Mason is a magician turning very small budgets into great works of art, The acting is good, the more is less works in this film and I highly recommend you do as I did Google Adam Mason and watch his movies you will not be disappointed. I'm on my 3rd movie Mason has directed and I love them all so far, So give this movie a go if you need links to watch his movies online just shoot me a line and I will get these to you, Blood River is amazing and a must watch so is Broken and Luster. I will watch all his movies and rate them here I hope this helps other viewers as I am really happy I found Mason and his works of art. be advised the gore is in your face, and what I loved most about this move it was based on real life experiences, true story, I can't imagine anyone having to go through this type of horror and pain, the fear must have been so crazy yet the human spirit can adopt and survive almost anything.

I'm sorry, but this film was just awful. I was looking forward to a gory and great underground film- but this wasn't it. Sure, there was a lot of blood and gore...but it just wasn't done very well. The prosthetic pieces were very obvious. I could make better stuff in my kitchen! The main actress was painful in her lack of acting ability. She was god awful. Opening her eyes wide and pretending to be scared and shocked- there was NO real emotion in her eyes and I just did not believe anything she tried to convey. It was just a big joke. I actually shut the movie off when it got the scene where she was trying to remove the razor. Did any of you not see that the prosthetic piece covered half of her belly? She had a belly ring on and the top part of the ring was under the prosthetic piece! Belly rings just don't attach by one end alone. there is a top and a bottom to it, and she was there with the very obvious end piece...but where was the top? Sloppy, unbelievable,unrealistic,horrible acting...I could do better if I tried. Clean it up and maybe it would have been watchable. For now- it wasn't even worth the $1 rental.

This could very well be the worst movie ever made. It is beyond me why there are so many people that have positive things to say about this truly awful piece of film.Let's get something straight, I don't think it's "awful" because it's violent. I think it's awful because it was made by a bunch of hacks.Just go up to the actors listed in the film to see what they've done after this movie was made in 2006. It looks like only two have gone on to do other things. That's because the acting in this movie was an abomination. You could use this movie in film class to show young directors how to NOT get good performances out of their actors.First of all, the casting was atrocious. They couldn't find a less threatening guy to play the antagonist then they one in the film. He looked like the small doofus that played the little guy on the chain gang in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou." And we're supposed to believe this guy has been living in the woods when he's wearing clothes that looked like they were freshly bought off the rack from some new Western store. The woman, "Hope," looked like an ugly Baby Spice. Why anyone would want to kidnap her is a mystery. Jeffrey Dahmer took better care in picking victims than the evil guy in this movie.Second of all, the character development was none existent. Let's forgo the third-of-all and fourth-of-all and just rattle some more off here.There were scenes where the captive could easily get the chains off by lifting them over her head. The first scene had a woman go through torture to stay alive only to kill herself when she got through the hard part. The movie took place over a month yet they looked just as clean at the end of the movie than they did at the start of the movie. The school girl victim was the most annoying character ever. I was begging for her to die. The ending was retarded.The movie was typical Euro movie making: Don't explain anything, just film a bunch of stuff and play it off as being artsy.It's like these Japanese horror films. They say they don't like American horror films because we have to explain everything and we have to exact revenge on the antagonist. I say, it's lazy screen writing to not provide back-story and a resolution.Avoid this movie at all cost. If you see it in the store do us all a favor and burn it. No eyes should ever witness the abortion that is Broken. I'd like to spit in the directors' faces for being such hacks and somehow getting a bunch of moronic fans to back their lazy garbage. Go screw.
