This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks.The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

This appeared to be promising as a movie to make fun of musicals the result however is a bunch of garbage. The story it's self is OK it's about a girl named Mackenzie, or Mack meets a boy Brady they go surfing and get suck into a huge way(sorry if I screw up the story a bit it's been a year since I've seen it). They arrive in a surfers movie called Teen beach movie. Here they meet some motorcyclists and beach goers(I can't remember what they are called). It starts going in a romeo and Juliet direction by trying to get one of the beach bums and a motorcyclist to go out. But then takes an odd turn with an evil scientist who tries to make a volcano erupt to destroy the island. Now for the review, the movie begins OK, but drops in goodness every second, the first problem is the music. Completely annoying and lyrics a new born could right. Secondly, the acting while not awful it isn't that good either, they try way too hard to be funny. And forget about actually acting. This is just my personal opinion though.

***This review does contain tiny plot key points and character names***NO. Grease is a brilliant film, and Disney just screwed it up by making this nonsense. The title itself is awful, uncreative and stupid. Why are there 'surfers' and 'bikers'? The plot is complete nonsense, with random characters thrown in unnecessarily. The villains, were driven by appropriate qualities: greed. But they were added in way too late, I think Disney forgot, and chose to add them in later. The film made no sense, and the acting was just downright cringe-worthy. I hope rubbish like this is not re-created. With the music, it wasn't THAT bad, but it wasn't great either. Characters: Brady (Ross Lynch) at the beginning, he's a biker. What would've made the story more like Grease would be if 'Brady' joined the bikers and 'Mack' joined the surfers to spite him. The plot was boring, dull and again, lacking in creativity. Disney need to consider fixing whatever this nonsense they call a 'film' is.

This is one of the few better Disney Channel films. Maia Mitchell is cute and a very talented actress and Ross Lynch as well and very, very bright. This is kinda an annoying film at times, and features several made for kids trademarks, such as horribly cheesy characters and dialogue, but makes up for it with the music, which is very original and catchy as well as the opening which really set the characters feelings, and at points I wish they'd stayed in that world. All together a decent kiddie fair, that is annoying yet watchable. The film tries to be good, but is mostly waterlogged and predictable! Still children will enjoy the catchy tunes and cast. C

Another Disney Channel movie I was looking forward to....but what do I get a newer version of grease,high school musical,west side story,and back to the future.so the film starts out with Ross lynch from Austin & ally and Maia Mitchell from the fosters and an episode of Jessie...having fun at the beach then mack(her character) reveals that she has to leave to go to some school and follow her mothers footsteps something like that then they go to her or Brady(his character)'s granddads shack and watch part of wet side story which confused me at first I thought it was Brady's movie that he starred in so for some reason Mack wants to surf when there's a big storm coming and she goes on this ancient surfboard and gets knocked out by the storm and Brady ends up going too then when they wake up it looks the same as before but more cheery and old fashion I never got the message like why are they there? And what do we learn from this? I'm 19 I love Disney movies most of them but this was just a disappointment so they are in the movie train to figure out how to get of it they meet the bikers and surfers who have this rivalry for hangout spot which everyone uses...throughout some of the songs were good but the surfers were too cheery(I've seen grease) it was all cliché,no plot,no message at the end, I can't with this movie what will they do next? And the title is dumb even my 9 year old brother wouldn't like this movie that's saying a lot so in the movie more stuff happens Mack and Brady are trying to fix the movie cuz they made the main leads fall for them but in the end the main leads fall for each other while saying mack and Brady from this evil clan(not necessary) I liked the last song I'm pretty sure I saw some of the surfers from the movie in that dance number...Disney needs to step up their game they are slacking
