The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
The effects were terrific, especially for a $30 grand budget. Rapid editing and shaky cam were a bit annoying at times. Extremely low budget indie horror flick. It makes for an enthralling and fast-paced horror adventure. At 75 minutes, the filmmakers pack in every bit of entertainment value.Saw it first in 2007. I rented the DVD after I saw the cover of a half zombie n Dimension extreme on it. Was better than new day of the dead (both films had fast running zombies).Even the crappy video quality didn't make me turn it off. What more interesting is that it took 9 days filming the whole movie. I thought for this amount of time, they did a great job shooting. Incredible energy thanks to hardcore metal music, incredibly over-the-top gore effects, and an awesomely impressive dedication to playing its horror/action straight. The opening morgue scene was awesome. Of course it had its cheesiness, its flaws, bad acting, zero plot but it's an extremely low budget indie man. It was entertaining with over the top gore n fast paced action. Director Steven C. Miller (Aggression scale, Under the bed, Silent night) did a fantastic job.
This is, by far, the worst film I have ever seen. Ever. Some movies are so bad that they're good. This is not one of those films.Just terrible. Quite a few of my favourite movies are low-budget creations, and I usually love zombie films, but this piece of garbage really lets the genre down. The acting is atrocious, the story line seems to be on vacation, and the ending? 'To be continued'. Yip. It's as if the creators of this movie decided "hey man, you know what? It's been nine days. Nine. Long. Days. Let's just end this thing now. F**k it." The strongest character in this film randomly, and apparently for no true immediate reason at all, decides to commit Zombie suicide, by running into a horde. I mean,... what, really guys?! C'mon.Yes there is gore. Yes there are a couple of not-so-stale ideas, but the delivery is lame, and the entire film seems to be lacking passion and commitment.I'm not a religious person, but I'm close to praying that there's not a sequel in the works. Whoever gave birth to this movie, needs to start taking some kind of film making contraception now.
The negative reviews are right. Don't watch this. The movie itself is hard to even look at because of the messed-up framerate issue, and all the dialog is ADR. You guys might want to try actually recording sound on location! But the real problem is they didn't have a story or characters. It's all pointless with huge plot holes every 5 seconds, because the film was thrown together so quick. It literally just stops with a "To Be Continued" i.e. "We couldn't finish it and didn't have an ending so stick around for another round of awfulness." No thanks.I should've known better renting this, but Bloody Disgusting loved it, which is completely ridiculous. They must know the filmmakers.
Where to begin... the whole movie has this awful jittery look to it, and it's because the filmmakers obviously to post-convert 30 fps down to 24 fps to give it a "film look." It's an epic fail. All the audio was recorded in post, because it all sounds horribly canned and out of place. Imagine a group of high school kids decided to shoot a movie one week. That's what this is. Everything about it is amateur. There's one or two good special effects, but there's no story. Just people running from zombies. One second they'll be in a jeep. Then all of a sudden they're swimming in a lake. It's mind-numbingly bad. They try to throw a stupid story at you about 70 min into it (which is right at the end since it's only 75 min long), and then it doesn't even have an ending. It just stops. One of the worst things I've ever seen.
