Very Cool!!!
Absolutely Brilliant!
It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
For this film to even have a chance of working, the audience has to have some kind of connection with our grieving couple. Unfortunately we are never allowed to really get to understand their plight as we are whisked off to the jungle very quickly. Yes, there is some flashback stuff, but by then I was just beyond caring. She was clearly nuts and he just wanted to go home. I can't even say I liked the performances; I guess they were good, but because I really couldn't engage with the characters, I found it all far too 'arty' for my taste. Definitely not one that will get any repeat viewings from me and sadly not one I can recommend.SteelMonster's verdict: NOT RECOMMENDEDMy score: 3.2/10You can find an expanded version of this review on my blog: Thoughts of a SteelMonster.
This is the worst film I have ever watched. Firstly there is a psycho woman who lost her son in a Tsunami. LIKE GET OVER IT U STUPID C**T. Then her retarded husband gives a chink 1.5m to find the son which is dead. They get conned and stranded in the Burmese jungle. There is NO blood and gore apart from 2 scenes where, trust me, the death is so boring. I mean COME ON, the film's 1h 30min long. I got to 1h 26mins and the film just suddenly ends with some slut having her tits rubbed in muck, when there should be loads more. F**k 'dangers of the Burmese jungle' like three fat 8 year old's with twigs Please guys don't watch this s**t.
What a load of rubbish!! Time I will never get back. Why do people make rubbish like this and call it art?Random scenes, people making irrational decisions, and a man following around a crazy woman around a forest. Stretched out scenes where your staring one someone's eyeball or something for like 10 - 15 seconds. People in the film who pop up and you get no connection with them. And really a WHACK storyline. Basically searching in a jungle with probably 1min of dialogue across 10 scenes maybe! Then loads kids pop and just stair at the couple!Load of rubbish, probably why Channel4 put it on at 12am! (Wish I could of gone back in time and read my own review before I watched this! LOL)
Vinyan was without doubt one of the worst things I have ever spent 2 hours doing. Jeanne the lead female character was the most annoying woman I have ever come across, I was actually hoping something painful and awful happened to her after 10 minutes of getting into the film. I could find no empathy with either character I really could not care less if they found their beloved son or not. So many ends were left untied that it became laughable, it seemed the writers started every morning and didn't bother to follow up from where they had left off. Avoid at all costs, I thought I'd seen some bad films until I'd seen Vinyan. EEUuuugghhh
