One of the worst movies I've ever seen
Better than most people think
Beautiful, moving film.
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Oh why oh why oh why did I not check these reviews first. This was staggeringly dreadful, and the first short with RP in it was made in 2009??? The 21st century? This film was like a bad worn out video with badly made 1970s style content. We have watched other Robert Pattinson films, and Water for Elephants was excellent, and thoroughly deserving of 10 stars. This? Just please don't bother. Don't do what we did and actually watch 85% of the whole thing before resorting to posting this review. I'm reliably informed the last 15% is just the icing on the cake. Bin it.And the film packaging and presentation is a total con.
While I agree wholeheartedly with most reviewers in that this is a terrible excuse for a film, none of them seem to have clocked what I suspected about halfway through the 3rd segment; it was never meant to be a film at all. Each is a standalone short made with nothing to do with the others whatsoever, and they were made up to 10 years apart (the Robert Downey Jnr one was made in 2000, the Robert Pattinson one in 2009, and others in 2004 and 2006 I think). Which does rather suggest that whoever made the decision to edit them together into one was doing so simply to be able to put so many big names on one DVD box, but (rightly or otherwise) suspecting people would be put off by having to call it a collection of unconnected shorts, so trying to hide the fact that that's what it is. I can only hope it failed to sell, otherwise this kind of trick could carry on for as long as stars or future stars make short films with probably no rights at all over what's done with them years later.
Where do I begin with this one. Let me just start off by saying that I am a big fan of movies, and I am very liberal in reviewing them. This is actually my first review on IMDb, this movie was so crappy that I felt compelled to register and review it, in the hopes that others will be spared the agony. I feel genuinely misled by the inclusion of some excellent, big name actors. By the way, the acting was very good, the stories just sucked. They were short and pointless. They didn't tie together. I got a bad feeling while watching the previews and it got progressively worse- by the time this was over I was actually very angry for some reason, mostly because the stories were just stupid. My girlfriend rented this from Red Box and I feel like I have to break up with her now. I also feel like I should at least email whoever owns Red Box. This is the type of movie that makes me want to just stick to tried and true "hits" and don't give other movies a chance if they seem iffy. Just a HORRIBLE turd of a movie.
I am literally so perplexed by this movie, I can't even tell you. I just rented it because it had a bunch of actors I like in it and it seemed like a romantic film. UM...no. It is the hugest pile of crap I've ever seen. From the very beginning credits, you can tell it's going to suck. But I decided to give it a chance anyways. Bad idea. It's 5 short films put together, none of which have anything to do with one another, have nothing to show to the world, have no significance to anything, and are poorly produced. It's like a train wreck, really. Only instead of wanting to keep watching, you start feeling so awful for the poor actors who got sucked into doing this, that you just have to turn it off. Which is what I did once I wasted an hour of my life that I'll never get back. Just like everyone else said, I think this movie is a joke...some sort of experiment to see how many poor, innocent Blockbuster customers they can get to rent a movie just by seeing the A-list celebrities on the cover. Don't fall for it!!! Sorry James Franco, I love you. But this is crap. The end.
