Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

This is a horrible movie. I did keep watching to see if it got any better. It did not. The special effects are horrible, I saw better graphics on a video game. I wish I could get the time I wasted of my life back, from this movie. You will not like this movie at all. The acting is terrible, the special effects are non-existent. You will shake your head and keep saying, why am I wasting my time with this movie? It never really tells you what is causing everything to freeze? The Day after tomorrow is a lot better movie. You may have to watch it to understand this one. So, save your time and not waste it on this movie.

C'mon, Mr Travis Fort (if that's your real name)... you can do better. You have a volcano in Iceland blowing up (OK, well set), that somehow (?) pushes a giant lacier towards the Eastern coast (you even checked a map to see that Newfoundland would be hit first... great research!). When it gets there, huge ice chunks fall from the sky, crushing buildings, cars and people (nice). And... where are the sharks?? You know, hungry, super-intelligent sharks frozen for a gazillion years and now coming down hard on unsuspecting people? This movie is beyond atrocious. It's worse in script, acting, editing and cgi than the most basic YouTube videos you can find out there. My 8 year old likes to make stop motion videos with his teddy bear, and this movie makes him look like a second Hitchcock or Kubrick. The plot is confusing to the extreme, the editing should be considered a crime up there with child molestation, and the acting... well, Patrick Labyorteaux got a job a few years back in JAG, and has been doing this since he was a kid. You would expect at least he learned something just by being there. Regarding the lady that performs as his wife, she looks and acts as if she just came out of rehab (or needs to go there); wish her the best, don't take any more crack. The girl (her daughter in the movie) was passably hot, they got at least that right. I didn't care about the kid; he will follow his "mom" into rehab in a couple of years. How did I end up watching this aberration? Looking for a simply bad movie (2012) on Netflix. I said "what the heck?" and ended up streaming it. It only cost me half an hour of my life (I had to fast forward it, it's impossible to sit through it all). So Mr. Travis Fort owes me half an hour of my life and some bandwidth. Just quit directing (under any name... no tricks) and we will call it even.

For a cheesy disaster flick, I have to give this 6/10. Bad acting, bad science, major goofs, predictable plot. Highly entertaining and humorous for a disaster flick, if you enjoy poking fun at major plot holes and mishaps.I won't give away any plot details, but this movie had me giggling and shaking my head through the whole thing...not to mention yelling at the screen over certain errors and waving goodbye at predictable moments.*Please note: My rating is based off of how well it lives up to a 'cheesy disaster flick' rating. The movie was really horrible overall, but my rating is based on how entertaining I found it, based on criteria I look for in a cheesy disaster flick.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was 2012 Ice Age.Eight gold stars and here are the reasons why: First, the CGI was the best I've seen since 1982.Second, the writing was so amazing that the actors felt compelled to repeat the lines multiple times. And, the editors must have felt the same way about some of the camera shots.Third, Nelson. What can I say about Nelson? A fine young up-and-coming actor. He really captured the true moments of drama. Nelson's delivery of the line "Dad, get us out of here," made my heart stop...all five times he said it.Fourth, there come's a time in a National Guardsman's life when he just needs to wrap himself in a giant sleeping bag. Don't worry. You get to see it.Fifth, the movie continues to deliver top notch comedy when it introduces a new character briefly before she is pummeled by a giant glacier stone.Sixth, grrr...give me your jacket.Seventh, the movie suspends reality better than a giant glacier moving more than 200 miles an hour.Eighth, the movie gets its final and eighth gold star for declaring war on glaciers.
