Simply Perfect
I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Bats. Scary, huh? Well, not really. That's why the makers of this (imaginatively titled) film have made these ones bigger, stronger and smarter. So... now they're very scary! Well, actually no - they still look like rubber monsters, only bigger ones. The main trouble with Bats is that it tries to be serious. Seriously... a film about intelligent bats shouldn't be done with a straight face. If you ever watched Eight Legged Freaks and saw how they handled a plague of giant spiders, then that was probably how the film-makers should have done with Bats. As it is, they try to be genuinely horrific... and it doesn't work.Saying that, Bats isn't the worst film ever. The acting is surprisingly competent, which is credit to the actors who do a good job with the material provided.Bats isn't a bad film, it's just nothing particularly out of the ordinary. It's full of clichés and the bats have this strange habit of letting major characters get a good head start before trying to eat them (as opposed to the meaningless stream of extras who get munched straight away). If you can really be bothered to watch another 'monster-munching' movie, then you could do worse. It's just you could also do a hell of a lot better.
Watched this simply out of curiosity and turned out to be really good.A bat research experiment goes haywire, producing killer bats that terrorize a town in Arizona, and it's upto a local sheriff, and 2 scientists to find and eliminate all of them before they can eliminate more human lives. Its a short film, but really well shot, with good cinematography, action and thrills from start to end. The special effects are not as good as they are nowadays but nevertheless quite realistic. There is also no vulgarity which makes it suited for kids too.I wish there was a sequel.
If i could give this movie a .5 I would. Im in 100% agree with the AWFUL category to which most reviews lean toward ... very very bad bad movie. There has never been a single movie in my life to which I've been able to actually say I did not like, perhaps hated, every single aspect of. Even for any other extremely horribly mind numbingly BAD movies... usually they at least have ONE good thing to say about them. The Postman for example... for it I could say, "Hey well the first half an hour is a pretty awesome flick!". Well so then Bats came along and took away X amount of time from my life to which I'll never get back and be horribly scared by for life.I was hoping ide enjoy the camp, as i often do... but no. Im usually very tolerant with movies as well and enjoy a wide range. This was just so damn bad.. oh god just saying "Bats" out loud or to type it makes me feel sick. This movie is just God Awful and hurts the brain. Never rent it, Never buy it and Never watch it simply because your obviously retarded friend suggests the idea. Run away if forced by someone and destroy it if given as a gift. There simply IS NO WAY and not enough space in the world to sit here and list / describe all the problems and questions this movie has and creates... this is why this review is simply over and over drilling into your brain how BLOODY BAD this movie is.Be aware. Stay Back. RUN AWAY.
this is a strange little movie.i mean it's very low budget and mostly poorly acted, perhaps on purpose.i'd swear it was done tongue in cheek yet at the same time it seems to take itself seriously.it has some pretty cringe worthy dialogue to say the least, and the story is quite silly,in my mind.at the same time though,it is fairly fun,and some of the characters are interesting.it's no masterpiece.in fact far from it.but i did find it a passably entertaining diversion.if you keep you expectation level really low for this movie, you might get some enjoyment out of it.it wasted around 85 minutes or so(not counting the end credits.it's not memorable, and once it's over, you'll forget all about it.for me,Bats is a 4.5/10
