I love this movie so much

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

Oh my good what a load of rubbish. That was a couple of hours of my life I will never get back. The acting was so bad it was shocking, and I really mean it when I say the acting was shocking. I've not seen such bad acting like that in a very long time. The acting was wooden, no passion or emotion, just nothing. There were no scares, not one scene frightened me which I was so disappointed about. The plot is nothing original, it's been done before in other films which have been better. It could of been a good film if more effort had been made with the storyline, scenes and had better actors. DO NOT RENT OR BUY THIS FILM! It's not worth your money or time. I watched it for free on Amazon and I wish I hadn't. I'm amazed this even made it to cinema/DVD release it's that bad. Overall this film was badly made, badly acted and was quite frankly just boring. Beware you have been warned :)

Okay, I agree with most reviews here, this was definitely not THE horror-flick of the year – not by far! And indeed, it makes you wonder what a budget of 1,3 million dollars was spent on: apparently not on elaborate CGI or (more than 2) professional actors or an expensive set. To be honest: everything looks a bit cheap and scruffy. But to whisk away the whole thing so relentlessly as total garbage is, in my humble opinion, a bit too harsh. Surely there are things in this production that are in some way positive. The premise for instance, which is fairly original: two rival ghostbuster-like teams are hired for the same job, i.e. investigate a ghost-sighting in an abandoned asylum. The one team is in for the debunking of everything supernatural, the other is Christian-based and totally into demons and ghosts. This controversy gives the (not so original) basic story of a haunted asylum an interesting extra twist and stands for some funny bickering between both parties. By the way: I didn't feel (as other reviewers did) any Christian message being launched on me, on the contrary, I thought they depicted the Christian team, and especially the leader, as rather unsympathetic and downright hypocritical.The acting is for the most part marginal, but the two team-leaders are played surprisingly well by Josh Folan (the skeptic) and Keithen Hergott (the Christian zealot); their rivaling confrontations in the beginning are very convincing and both succeed in consistently keeping-up their character throughout the movie. Folan's strength lies mainly in his strong and self-assured screen-presence, but Hergott adds an extra dimension as a conniving, overbearing and narcissistic self-appointed Messiah. In combination with his good looks this results in a very strong and an actually (I'm sorry, negative reviewers, but I have to be honest here) blood-chilling performance. I saw on IMDb that he hasn't yet done much acting (he seems to be primarily a model), but he sure is some-one to watch out for in the future, this is one very talented person! Don't get me wrong, for the rest I totally agree with the negative views here. The script sucks, the story (and direction) gets more and more chaotic in the second half of the movie and even Folan and Hergott cannot compete with that. Especially the whole last section, meant no doubt to be some sort of climactic apotheosis, is one big let-down. The CGI (if any) consists in some vague flashing-by of supposed ghosts and one Grudge-like creature (also vague) and the whole thing can hardly be called scary, which (I suppose) must have been the intention. And the found-footage concept… well, I'm totally fed-up with it, it's SO dated, no-one in his sound mind wants to spend one and a half hour of his life watching dizzying, grainy and wobbly images, ending-up with rolling eyes and a splitting head-ache. So to sum it up: don't go for the story, just enjoy Folan and Hergott and hope for them for some better projects in the near future, where they can really put their teeth in and prove their talent.

I read some of the reviews and frankly I don't understand some of them. Yeah it could have been acted better by some of the people but all in all I thought it was an okay movie. It pitted believers and unbelievers going after the same thing from different view points who come together at the end, at least those that survived (not many). As for the very end I believe it was a dying bad guy who was hoping for proof that there was no afterlife seeing film footage that said the opposite and he was going to Hell. That is just my take on the end, what's yours? I thought the in the corner of the eye flickers and shadows were well done. I must say I don't get the significance of the eight raped and murdered women though.

With the production being from VVS Films I was a little weary. But I didn't mind the film. I thought the back story subtitled narration was a strong point. The acting from Josh Folan seems very sincere and the acting from the surrounding cast is very acceptable.Now I've been watching this company VVS Films spit out a lot of garbage in the earlier years with bad actors being hired straight from high school it seemed, and the writing of most of their earlier production films were terrible. I'm surprised they are still around. I stayed away from any film made by VVS Films and now I stumbled upon this excellent well written and well produced B movie gem. Not bad at all I must say! The ghost scenes were pretty cool, especially the bloody girl in the hospital hallway that seemed to be the creepy girl from "The Grudge", but still it wasn't that bad of a scene, being already done before. The film grade seemed not too bad at times, but earlier on in the film it was a little too low grade.Especially when the hosts of the show meet with the guy that wants them to investigate the insane asylum as his last request before he dies, the scene was too brightly lit, the background was a really noticeably fake New York background, and the acting from the guy requesting this reality show to do the investigation was really bad, also his lawyer was terrible at acting, he also looked like he has hair plugs from some early 1990's hair transplant that went wrong.The religious camera crew seemed a little weak with the "medium". But all in all not bad. The Scottish actor performance was really decent, he had a funny one liner when introduced.As a fan of low budget films this one didn't seem that bad as a VVS production, they acquired some really talented actors/actresses, and the writing was well done, as for short scripts go. The acting seemed to get stronger as the film went on. If only the film grade were darker and more gritty, this would of went to most theatre's. The score of the film seemed a little ridiculous at times but understandable considering the budget restraints.The funny thing is there is definitely more terrible high budget films going to the big screen than this one...........
