One of my all time favorites.
If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
I like a lot of this movie, especially the character of Sabrina! Man, I want to own a 1958 Corvette now! It's really too bad there are no extra features on the DVD, I don't own it but that's what I've heard. I would have really looked forward to a director's cut or bloopers, deleted scenes, interviews, film locations be disclosed. The movie had some big flaws, one of which is that we know nothing about Sabrina's history and just how bad of a girl she had been in the past (and how she came about getting that fantastic car). Makes me want to watch a Prequel, or Sequel (after jailtime, is she reformed?).I have to keep in mind that it was a made-for-TV movie, and I am glad this movie exists, despite it's imperfections. The character of Rita Summers, Mort's GF, wasn't very strong and didn't fight back against Sabrina's aggressiveness. That was disappointing.Maybe if it were a TV mini-series it would have been better. Then again maybe not. A full blown TV series, yes.I feel as though the only good acting in the movie was done by the actors of Sabrina and Mort. Also Sabrina's mother was pretty good although brief. If you notice, the actor of her mother played a Starfleet Admiral in Star Trek: TNG.After watching the movie, I'm glad I watched it but at the same time I am angry that the audience was left hanging without closure. Sabrina is clearly going to be different now, hopefully she will reform and be not such a bad girl anymore and finally get a college degree and be a mother. Maybe I should mail Jamie Luner and ask if she'd want to do a Sequel! Also, good information for fans; 'Confessions of sorority girls' was filmed at King Gillette Ranch/Soka University! I might roll through there one day with a Corvette... Just look up King Gillette Ranch on Google Maps and you hover the orange streetview guy around and there are still images that will pop up. The entrance matches the scene where Sabrina drives up to the 'Fillmore College' sign!!
Look at the 4.2 rating and that tells you a lot about this film. For those that put comments here including the words "hot", "steamy", "Intriguing", or "perfect" need to watch a few more movies or they are just too generous. While Jamie Luner and Alyssa Milano are both beautiful and do a fine job of working with what they have, the script is a montage of cliche. 1) Spoiled rich girl, hates everyone, does evil to all who won't kneel before her. 2) Good girl in love, hides family shame, doubts boyfriend, forgives and love triumphs 3) Girl gets pregnant, boyfriend leaves her to deal with the shame and problems, boy returns to "do the right thing".and last: 4) Audience, desperately pressing "FF" button on remote trying to find a partially nude scene or the relief of rolling credits signifying the end to this terrible waste of film.
After about two years of searching, I have finally found a copy of "Confessions of a Sorority Girl" on video, and it was better than I thought it would be!!!The beautiful Jamie Luner was perfectly cast as Sabrina, the misunderstood new girl at school. The basic story is this...Sabrina (Jamie Luner) arrives at a new school, which her sister attended a few years before. Everyone expects Sabrina to live up to her sister's high standards, but Sabrina has other plans. She tries to steal Alyssa Milano's boyfriend (Brian Bloom) and goes to all lengths to embarrass the other girls, until she finally goes too far...It's a brilliant take on the Good Girl / Bad Girl theme and it is brilliantly done. Set in the fifties, it takes advantage of the fashion and music of that era.5 Stars!!!
I liked this movie although it could have been better. It was supposed to be about back stabbing and all that. From what I saw the girl was not very good at it none of her plans really fooled anyone for more then about 10 minutes? Everyone was on to her from the start for it to be someone that is really good at betrayal. They should be able to get away with it until they make some mistake she made mistakes all the way through the movie?
