The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

Actually I'd give it about 3 stars just for the visuals and the free porn - the naked girls actually have some meat on them. The corridors and computer gear, and the opening (drums fingers...) were quite nice. But in all other respects, this film partakes of enormous, greasy donkey testicles. It just drags on and on, in the dark, introduces more and more 'mysterious' fluff, stretches time out infinitely (when is his deadline due again??), tries our patience, tries to keep us interested by bribing us with soft porn, and thinks it's ooooooo so clever and, in that respect, is ooooooo so incorrect.Let's get the P word out, this is a time to use it: Pretentious. This movie is pretentious crap.I got half way through (Yes, you are correct, I've not watched it to the end and probably never will - nevertheless, from reading, looks like I managed to guess correctly what it was. Gee, must be smart, hey? Or - was this movie just dumb?) and thought "It must be coming to some kind of nexus-point about now, yeah?" I checked where the DVD was up to and, my gods, IT WAS ONLY HALF WAY THROUGH.As the other 'guess what' reviewer, from Germany, states, there is a reason you've never heard of this film. It's because it's a piece of w*nky, slow, boring, art-house pseudo-meaningful, UN-clever crap.

I always find these forays into low budget film-making initially fascinating. They always draw me into the story and then lead me a merry dance. With One Point 0 however I'm convincing myself this is Angel Heart, and what Phiam is seeing is only the inverted version of reality. Stylised shots of spiralling staircases, dark and shadowy corridors and a bleak and depressing dystopia all enforce the parody. And as much as Harry Angel must move from person to person to piece the puzzle of the case, so must Phiam move from room to room to piece together the mystery of the packages. The problem is, the moving around seeking answers from the unknown has already been done much more skilfully, such as Aaronovich's Pi or Natali's Cube. In many instances the poorer relations soon begin to lose the plot as the directors struggle to stretch out the feature- lengthiness; such as a pointless sexual encounter. Where Channel 4 succeeded in presenting new directors or intriguing screenplay is they allowed the director immense freedom, admittedly on very little budget, but the film ran to its natural length, without obstacles complicating the film's horizon. There is far too much in this film that is unnecessary and much that is unexplained. But I suppose the directors were more concerned about producing a feature film rather than a lasting impression.

SO are you one of those people who have seen films like, David lynch eraser head, primer, pi, city of lost children, dark city, and liked them, well then i guess this is a film you will enjoy. Some things reminded me of Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's delicatessen, as in the way they used the sounds of things together creating a rhythm and the way they use the colors and filters. The whole movie is about 50% black, and the rest colors with a lot of contrast in details. everything is dirty, like dark city, city of lost children.the story ain't particular interesting, as for myself who have seen far to many films for my own good, i would rate this one a 5, anyway the story: Its about this guy who get infected, and what the whole movie is showing the viewer, is the effects the lead character is experiencing and is trying to solve through out the movie.Weak attempts to put some excitement in the viewers head, i only continued watching it because i felt i had to, flick-junkie what can i say...A lot of colors, strange characters with short lines thats Ont questions or repetitions of what the lead character says. But the editing is quite good and the soundtrack is only a lot of down pitched noise and industrial tweaked effects, and an ambient score. But for people who hasn't seen so much film and feel they are looking for something interesting and weird, check out all David lynch movies, and the ones mentioned above then check this one out and you'll know what i am saying.i have seen i guess about all movies thats "Experimental" in the way One point O is. only One point O at times feels a bit low grade as in its details and characters.but it separates itself from the standard garbage Hollywood is spitting out so if you are bored rent it, buy it what ever. its an OK flick.as for the person talking about max headroom and Kafka, well, i can agree that some might come from Kafka but, as for max headroom? Come on now. there were no such thing in this film.

Maybe just another conspiracy theory movie, this one is particularly special, because would be the first one to deal with publicity and marketing issues. I study communication and the theories the movie presents are no crazier or more neurotic than Baudrillard's, who is considered one of the communication post-modernist masters. Brainwashing is an old topic? Perhaps, but having the possibility of giving wings to our own doubts on how much visual propaganda and subliminal ads lead us, is quite interesting. Maybe it is not so surreal if you really go beyond the lack of story and holes in the plot. Catch the overview criticism the movies makes and we'll realize the facts which the film brings are not that impossible, or they won't exist only in the future. Minimize and rationalize their paranoia, get the symbolisms and metaphors and maybe the movie is based on the real media. Interesting movie. Don't take it literally though, otherwise it will obviously be another paranoia movie and nothing else.
