It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

AD has has a weak storyline with the basic plot dealing with the hero traveling from Spain to Hyderabad to bring back his estranged aunt. However, his road seems not to be so smooth (like the Bangalore road-full of potholes!).Trivikram Srinivas who is known for creating superficial hero characters comes up with one more. His latest hero - Gautam Nanda (Pawan Kalyan) seems to possess magical powers. While he manages to bring down opponents with a single punch, it is equally easy for him to romance two beautiful heroines (Samanta and Praneeta).Praneeta gets her ticket to act opposite Pawan. Though she is good, her character is that of a shy girl. Samanta, as usual, looks bubbly.With a weak storyline, the movie drags till the interval testing your patience. Except for the punchy dialogs and songs, the movie has nothing much to offer till then. The real entertainment begins with the entry of the Brahmanandam character. The otherwise 'dull road' suddenly turns into an expressway of entertainment with loads of comedy. Brahamanandam has once again proved how he can lift the spirits of the audience (like he did in Badshah). From here, the movie turns comic with Pawan doing a spoof of infamous god men.The climax is where in the director shows his real skills. The dialogs here are terrific and Trivikram once again wins hearts with his one-liners.For Pawan fans, it is definitely a treat to watch. He is good in action, dance, romance, dialogs and every other department. Music by Devishri Prasad is pleasing to the ears. Overall, it seems like Trivikram is losing his technical brilliance and has do do his best with a weak storyline. On the flip side, if you like Pawan, you can watch it.

First half of the film is superb and second half is equally good. Pawan Kalyan's performance and Trivikram's excellent story telling skill makes sure that your heart is touched at times and heartily laugh all the time while watching the movie. Pawan Kalyan redefines the entertainment value with his performance in Atharintiki Daaredi. Trivikram entertains classes as well as masses equally. It's a simple story of a guy who wants to unite two families. What makes this simple story work is the setting up of backdrops and treatment given by Trivikram. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is excellent. The background music is so good that you will not notice it. Samantha's 'golden leg' run continues with this film as well. She has done very well. There is less of a romance angle in the film. But Samantha made she that she hogs limelight in all the scenes she is in.

I expected the movie to be OK. I had liked earlier few movies by this director. But this one gave me full headache.Over 50% Telugu movie suffer with Role play syndrome (i.e. the hero takes up a fake character in some family. This movie also repeats the same formula.The amnesia episode, The Indra drama scenes etc. ..Oh my God people have lot of #$#@$^. Mr. Brahmanandam is becoming intolerable.No billionaire would have chamchas following him as shown in this movie. And that to carrying his shoes.
