Strange Tales Of A Lonely Studio
This film tells the story of scholar Fang Dong who endangers his life because of his greed for beauty, and his kind-hearted Ya who loves Fang Dong deeply and chooses to sacrifice herself in exchange for Fang Dong. The prodigal son Fang Dong embarks on a journey to find his true love, and encounters and rescues an oppressed kind-hearted banshee on the road. I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
