Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

The following description contains spoilers. Read 'em. It's better than wasting precious time viewing the movie.The basic premise of this dull, unoriginal pretense of a film involves amalevolent knife and a demonic plot to invade the world. After a boringintroductory narrative describing the evil history of some islands off the coast of Italy, the film moves to the three principal characters: Ramona, Camilla, and Mario. They visit a remote beach where Mario soon finds the aforementionedknife. He inadvertently cuts himself and is quickly possessed by some demonic force. The two young women are unaware of his predicament and are quicklythe targets of his murderous urges. Not surprisingly, anyone injured by him can become infected with the diabolic contagion.Die Insel der Dämonen is admittedly low budget, but that is no excuse for this waste of time and resources. It is afflicted with universally poor performances, amateurish cinematography, and appalling pacing. The plotline is more of anafterthought with no element of originality, depth, or innovation. The shooting locations are decent and appear to be some sort of tourist spot in Italy. The gore effects are at best mediocre by low budget film standards.For me, the pacing problems are most noteworthy. The viewer is treated to:1. Ramona's long walk through an Italian town2. Mario's long boat ride to the beach3. Watching a guy exercise and shadowbox (which include slow motion!)4. Virtually endless underwater scenes of a largely blank ocean floorDon't sponsor Andreas Bethmann's film "career" by renting or purchasing thistravesty. Avoid at all costs.

This extremely boring German shot-on-video horror film is shoddy even for amateur standards. Its running time is about 70 minutes (there has been a re-edited version in 2000, I think, with added scenes, but it doesn't make things better) and almost nothing at all happens. There are two or three quite gory scenes, but they are lousy (compared with other German amateur gore films from, e.g., Olaf Ittenbach or Andreas Schnaas). The plot is inexistent, because the thin story line gets blown up that much that it gets lost somewhere in the middle of the film. The final scene also makes no sense and has no connection whatsoever with the rest of the film.Don't get yourself misled by the tagline "the latest horror shocker from Italy", because even though it has been made in Italy (in a way Andreas Bethmann's holiday video), there is nothing comparable to the even worst Italian horror film - "Insel der Dämonen" is inferior to almost every other film of its kind; except, maybe, Todd Sheets' "Zombie Rampage" which was made ten years earlier. 1 out of 10, which still is too much for this unbelievably annoying dog turd of a film.
