Why so much hype?
Excellent but underrated film
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
I gave the movie a try because the premise sounded interesting and I was utterly disappointed by the delivery. The acting can be called wooden at best, almost the first complete hour of the movie is just boring and unfocused and even when it comes to the more horror-themed elements, the movie just doesn't work. The special effects are hilariously bad, but to the movies credit I have to say at least the movie hasn't been overloaded with CGI effects. Almost every effect was practical and that is the only positive thing I can say about this movie. The characters are unlikeable jerks most of the time, and I don't see any of them having any real personalities, which for me is the most movie-breaking thing that can happen. All in all, seekers doesn't stand out in any way.
