An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

1st Match: Chris Candido and Lance Storm vs Jerry Lynn and Tommy Rogers. This was originally a singles match, but it ends in a no contest and becomes a tag match on the fly. Taking both matches into account, this is still meh. The singles match is OK, but the tag match is rushed, and is just a bunch of spots without any impact. Rating: 2.5/52nd Match: Mikey Whipreck vs Justin Credible. Credible was on a roll after debuting, having an impressive undefeated streak. So naturally, leave it to ECW's underdog to end that streak. The match is OK for 7 minutes, better than the first 2 matches for sure, but it doesn't impress that much. Rating: 3/53rd Match: Tazz vs Pitbull #2, ECW World TV Championship. Nothing squash. It took me longer to type this than watch the match. Rating: None.4th Match: The FBI vs The Dudleyz vs Axl and Balls vs The Gangstanators, Four Courners Elimination Tag match for the ECW World Tag Team Championships. Gangstas are out late, so it's only three teams to start. An entertaining match, despite Joel Gertner being incredibly irritating. A bunch of brutal spots, blade jobs, no sells, and not much else. Rating: 3.5/55th Match: Rob Van Dam vs Tommy Dreamer. This is billed as a Flag match, but is just a normal match with no rules. Rob is really good at this egomaniac gimmick he has, and I like the WWF/ECW feud that's been going on. On a side note, Joey Styles' commentary can be really cringey at times, and him describing Beulah is one of them. Rob's offense is always fun to watch, and Dreamer does a good job of keeping the crowd on his side. A bunch of run-ins result in a no contest, but I liked the match, and Alfonso knocking a ref out was funny. This is also the match where Jeff Jones sells out, OK. Rating: 3/56th Match: Sabu vs The Sandman, Tables and Ladders match. I've heard about this match for years, the IWC hate it, other people hate it, I think it's alright. The big thing is that a lot of spots miss, but I didn't mind that, if anything it fits ECW rather well. It does have a very obvious pattern though. Punch, move, spot, punch, move, spot, repeat. It's still not that bad, and some spots look good to me. I remember them having a Stairway to Hell match in January of 1998 that was also pretty good. Not as bad as everyone else says it is. rating: 3/57th Match: Shane Douglas vs Bam Bam Bigelow, ECW World Heavyweight Championship. This match on the other hand is garbage. Bigelow is in control the whole match, and then Douglas wins with one move through a table. This match is 25 minutes long. This is a squash, that is 25 minutes long, and only serves to have Douglas win in his hometown. There's no suspense, no angle, no nothing, it's just a guy getting destroyed for 25 minutes, and then winning. It's not enjoyable in any way, and aside from getting the biggest reaction of the night, is one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Rating: 0/5Final Rating: 4 out of 10. No real match on here is worth your time, and the main event is abysmal.

1. Tommy Rogers Vs. Chris Candido 6.5/10 2. Justin Credible Vs. Mikey Whipwreck - Mikey won, fine. 7/10 3. ECW World TV Title Match: Tazz Vs. Pitbull #2 - Almost squash, but I like that. 7/10 4. D-Von Dudley/Buh-Buh Ray Dudley Vs. Little Quido/Tracy Smothers Vs. Axl Rotten/Balls Vs. The Gangstanators - Tag Titles for FBI, great booking strategy. 7.5/10 5. Tommy Dreamer Vs. Rob Van Dam - Well scripted match 8/10 6. Sabu Vs. Sandman - ECW has got God of wrestling - Sabu, but Sandman was out of shape in this match. 9/10 7. ECW World Heavyweight Title Match: Champ-Bam Bam Bigelow Vs. Shane Douglas - Shane was so weak in that fight, for 95% of the match Bam Bam's got possession. New Champ - it was obvious. 7.5/10
