There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

A self-professed remake/rendering of 'Cyrano De Bergerac', this light flick, despite its flaws, of which there are quite a few, works, and manages to come across as a good bit of fun to have this weekend (actually, last) at the local multiplex. The unconvincing parts, to me, was in the pairing up of the lovers, which is handled in a matter-of-fast fashion, missing they key ingredient that so many love@firstsight stories need to have - magic. However, that is made up for by showing the rapport between the members of the boy's household when he's on summer holidays. The things broke young men do to impress their girls are also treated with a warm fondness (leading me to wonder/conclude that the helmer was waxing nostalgic about his own time when he was younger). The weak ending kind of dampens everything that came before, in an effort to be satirical, but the attempt is laudable. Avasarala gives himself a few powerful scenes, and directs himself with aplomb, that I was cheering his performance along with everyone else in the auditorium. Newcome Rashi Khanna's quite good, but is let down by poor characterisation during both phases of her presence. Newcomer Naga Shourya tries, but I confess not finding him adequate to the needs of how the character needed to emote/acquit himself. 1 song's quite good, along with 1 sequence of pleasantly unexpected hilarity, that's worth the price of admission alone. If the rest of the movie had lived up to the quality set by those 2 sequences, I would have been happier. For now, this is as good as it gets, and that's not necessarily a bad thing either. Go watch it, along with your significant other.

Oohalu Gusagusalade is the kind of cinema every moviegoer yearns for... An adorable lead pair, simple characters, situational comedy, eye- catching visuals, soothing music and loads of romance..The story starts with Venkateswara Rao(Naga Shourya), an aspiring newsreader stuck-up as a Television shopping host, selling things on the channel owned by Uday Bhaskar(Srinivas Avasarala), a typical conceited boss who is jealous of debonair Venky's socializing skills with his female office staff. Uday finds Sai Sirisha(Rashi Khanna) through a marriage broker and likes her instantly. Uday seeks Venky's help to charm Sirisha into marrying him, he promises Venky with newsreader's job in return and threatens him of destroying his career if he refuses. Unwillingly, Venky agrees to play cupid, only to find out later that Sirisha is his Ex-Girlfriend Prabha whom he met in Vizag 5 years ago during his summer vacation. The rest of the story deals with how Venky confronts his feelings for Prabha while helping Uday woo her.Avasarala deserves the major chunk of credit for crafting this movie into a delightful rom-com. What makes this movie stand out is the wonderful writing, every dialogue goes so well with the characters and situations and he did great job as a director by giving importance to even the smallest characters while taking the story forward. This movie reminds me of the classics of the same genre made by masters like Jandhyala,Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Basu Chaterjee & Woody Allen. He shines once again as an actor with his trademark comedy timing.Naga Shaurya comes across as a breath of fresh air. He did a very good job for his first movie. His performance as a caring son, loving boyfriend and ambitious subordinate is praiseworthy. He gets you right from the first scene, he is a complete director's actor.Rashi Khanna... she makes this movie special. It is her captivating beauty & performance which makes the movie complete. She makes an everlasting impression with her lovable character of Sri Sai Sirisha Prabhavathi. She is mesmerizing in those tender love scenes in Vizag part. Especially in the song, Yem Sandeham ledu.. every shot is like a serene wallpaper.. My compliments to Venkat C. Dileep(Cinematographer), Kalyani Koduri(Music), singers and other artists for creating such a heavenly experience.Best moment of the movie: Uday tells Prabha in the restaurant scene that she has 'something' on her face, she wipes her face but he says its still there and she cannot wipe it off because it is the 'beauty'.Corny as it may sound but sometimes corny is true :)
