One day, Jinlian met Zhao Tianyou, a businessman, by the river. They had mutual feelings. But because Jinlian's stepmother was greedy, Jinlian was sold to a brothel. After Jin Lian went to the brothel, she was forced to become a prostitute by the brothel owner, aunt Cui. It's hard for Tianyou to find out the whereabouts of Jinlian. When Tianyou finds Jinlian, he just rescues the short-sighted Jinlian and decides to escape with her. Unexpectedly, their whereabouts are found, so Tianyou is killed and Jinlian is also taken away. Overrated
Don't Believe the Hype
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
