Absolutely the worst movie.

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Seriously, i loved watching the TV series when i was a teen, it was over the top, kind of stupid sometime, but most of the episode where really fun and the absurdity of it made it good. But the movie, even with a way bigger budget than the series, is nowhere near as good. For example the running gag of Serge 1,2,3 get really way too far as being Serge 6 in just 2 hours. When there was dryers coming from the sky i was like "seriously wtf". I remember there was some very weird gag back then, but it was always done in a way it would be funny and at least a little bit believable. Anyway i didn't like the movie and never even saw the second one. When im bored maybe ill give it a try someday, but i was disappointed by this and i feel with a larger budget they could have do much better.

This movie is a true piece of Quebec's culture and is based on a very well known and admired television series. This movie has been awaited by many fans and has been popular enough to do a second movie a few years later. This movie is comparable to Mel Brook's "Spaceballs" and I would call this movie a parody of the popular science fiction movies or series where a couple of Quebeckers have to save the world and the whole galaxy.The story isn't important in this movie as the goal is to laugh about the stupidity and absurdity of the antiheroes that get from one stunning and exaggerated situation to the next slapstick scenery. The weak point about this movie is that many jokes only work if you are yourself a Quebeckers because there are many puns or plays on words, many allusions to the French Canadian culture and the old series. For the fans of the series, this movie is a funny ride and a must see but anyone else will laugh from time to time but won't get all the jokes and allusion in the different situations. Some scenes may even seem to be completely embarrassing or senseless to those who haven't known the series. Another negative point is that the first twenty minutes or so are very funny, original and interesting but a lot of jokes or typical behaviours of the closed minded characters get repeated and become really annoying after a while and you can't laugh about this anymore. The movie is based on many quite superficial jokes and has a lack of variety or originality after a while.That's why i would only recommend this movie to those who would like to know more about the culture, humour and television of Quebec or for the ones that know and like the series on which the movie is based. Anyone else that expects a great and original science fiction parody may only have a few laughs and don't understand the hype or appreciate this flick. That's why I can only give an average note to this movie after all from a very neutral point of view. Personally, I was disappointed by the lack of originality in this movie after a while though it was at least very entertaining.

I watch this movie a second time, in fact, I give it a try, and I finally understand why their so many fans out there ! I'm one of them now, because it's sarcastic, it's so sarcastic that you need to flush your brain in the toilet for 2 hours, because you will seriously feel a lot of pain sitting and watching this movie ! It's pure jokes, lot of fun, an experienced casting, I watched the whole series and now this great and entertaining movie... my only little complain is the work of Sylvie Moreau, dosen't sound good for me, but, maybe that's because I don't like her in her way to act ! Still, I saw both movies and this one, even if it's not as good as the sequel and with the B-movie look, it's still a lot of fun to watch !!

I must admit that it's rare that I like french films. However, this one not only met my expectations, I've never laughed so much. I must warn though that if you're not into stupid comedies, you might not like it as much. But, for a mature family, it's worth watching. Thus, like Jules Caesar once said, a clean tie attracts the soup of the day.And for you English readers who don't understand french, I ask, how did you get here? Seriously, if you're venturing into french films, you can't go wrong with this wonderfully subtitled comedy. Be warned though, some jokes are cultural and don't really translate all that well. But if you're English Canadian, good chance you'll still get most of the laughs.
