It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
This was the suckiest 87 minutes of my life. I whole-heartedly agree with the rest of the comments here. I've made better movies than this in college, and so did all my classmates. If you're computer literate, you'll be sure to cringe a lot. Typing DIR in a dos prompt and listing the directory is apparently high level hacking. Steer clear of this mega-crap. This made my all-time bottom five movies. Brian Dennehy must have a serious drug or gambling problem if he needs to take these kinds of jobs. I would say even Daniel Baldwin is too classy for this movie, which says a lot. AWFUL acting from the lead and his wife. The "suspense" is just embarrassing. The "action" sequences are so fumbling it's not even laughable, you just squirm in mental discomfort. Serge Rodnunsky, your talent, if existent, lies elsewhere. Stay away from movies. Take Uwe Boll with you.
I saw this truly terrible TV movie on Polish telly last night. What were the likes of Brian Dennehy, Robert Guillaume, Brad Dourif thinking to participate in this appalling mess? Maybe they were offered nice cheques, I hope so!Director/Editor/Writer Serge Rodnunsky shows he really he has no idea how to:A: Write a plausible script.B: Edit a film to build tensionC: Direct actors. This film has amateur night written all over it. A true waste of my time and anyone's else time. AVOID!
I saw this movie as well. I was out of town on a business trip and had a hard time sleeping. After watching this movie, I had no problem sleeping at all. If you have any computer security experience at all, you'd know in a heartbeat that cracks can't be broken as easily as they were in this movie. If you want an exciting movie about hackers that will keep you on the edge of your seat, go see Anti-Trust ! !
This film is predictable and stupid. It looks like it was made in 1982 even though it was made in 1999. The acting is bad, the music is annoying. I didn't care about any of the characters and I kept hoping the wife "Linda" would die because she was a bad actress and her character made no sense. The cutting of the movie was distracting and was obviously trying to hide the fact that there was no budget.
