Anшa and her beloved Yurko come to visit the girl’s parents in the Ukrainian Carpathian village in the summer. At the Ivan Kupala celebration, a local heartthrob named Ivanka, nicknamed Morena, puts her eye on and charms him. Strange and mystical events begin to happen to lovers after meeting with Morena. A conflict breaks out between girls – their relationship turns into a desperate war that leaves blood in their wake. This feud will forever change them.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
