Reviews
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
O.W. Fischer is fine and very tongue-in-cheek in this otherwise poor and unconvincing Airport-like trash. The subject is the same as in any other film in this genre (wounded captain, love affairs between crew members, failing landing gear), but Gottfried Rheinhardt was not up to it to make this into an entertaining film; maybe he was just a too serious director for this material. If it had been really bad, it could have been a good, bad film with plenty of unintentional laughs; as it is now, it is not even funny.
