How sad is this?
Absolutely brilliant
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
She's back! I was really hoping she would come back again, never expected her to be pregnant again on another special. She's got the pregnant lady wobble-walk down.If I had to compare to another comic I'd say she's a lot like an Asian female version of Kevin Hart, just seems naturally funny and energetic, at least on stage, and makes jokes about her life.I loved her first netflix special 'Baby Cobra', and this one is the same Ali Wong style but with her life inspirations in early motherhood/family life since then. Here's hoping that when her kids can walk or speak she'll have a bunch of new experiences for another special :-)
5/24/18. No-holds-barred Ali Wong is back again. Didn't realize she is in her second pregnancy, at about the same time as the first pregnancy when she did Baby Cobra. I just thought she did 2 stand-ups back to back during the same pregnancy. Anyway, if you liked her first stand-up, you will probably enjoy this one. Ali takes on everything with no shame, which is actually quite refreshing.
Ali Wong is definitely talented, but her routine needs a bit of fine tuning. While some of her jokes are pretty good, most are just meh and her delivery needs work. She relies too heavily on changing her voice as part of the punchline, and it's more grating than humorous with repeat viewing, especially since she does it with almost every joke. That being said, I would definitely recommend this special, and I hope to see more from her in the future.
I know men may or may not relate unless they are one of the white ones dating or married to an Asian women. As a woman, I thought it was funny and smart. Not a mother but can still relate as many of my friends have kids. Ali is a super talented writer, her insights on the Asian American culture, motherhood and being a partner are funny and reflects what people go through. Good for you , can't wait to see more. This was my first time seeing any of her stuff, now i'm going through the archives.
